oooh, i really like the little green jacket-type thing (the one with the chains hanging across it). did you use a tute/pattern for it?

I actually just made a pattern out of this button up shirt I had....I'm not sure how had it would be to post all the parts of the jacket... I will try and get my friend to help me make a tute for it!! and I am glad you liked it.... it was my pride and joy

So in my city there is this party every month, they bring dj's, booze and a ton of people show up.... well this month it was a party/fashion show so me and my friends entered it and this is what we came up with!

It was a combination of 50's pin up girls and nautical theme

The pictures are kind of bad quality but I will try and get better pictures of all the designs, since these aren't all of the designs! And by the way the hairdo's are much better than these pic's make them look!!

Comments and or critiques would be awesome!!!

Oh I love the first one. Does shirring make the fabric stretchy and do you have to add elastic to the fabric or does it go stretchy on its own?
The Bobbin thread you use is a shirring elastic thread.  When you sew like more than 3 rows with it, it starts stretching and shirring. I believe there is a tutorial of the shirring shirt somewhere in here.  The fabric isn't stretchy, it just becomes stretchy when you do the shirring.  Did I confuse you!?

Hi there, I've been get around posting pics of these dresses I've made but the lack of a good camera has forced me to take pics with my camera phone.  And since I really can't take pics of me with my camera phone and show off the dress I waited til I got my dress form!  So here they are....

I originally made this a sweetheart top dress but it was WAYYY too big for me so I just turned it into a tube top looking thing

It has no zipper so I shirred the back (which took the longest) and it fits awesomely

This dress is super see through but I was just trying out the pattern, I really like it

Here's me wearing the dress so you know I'm not making up stories about sucking at taking pics of myself with my camera phone

this dress I sooo cheated because I just bought the already shirred material at wal mart...it was way too easy to make, NOTE:  I shirred my own dress on the first pic, I didn't cheat!

And if anybody's wondering who that handsome guy in the back is?  It's Greg Graffin from BR
