1  Re: Promalong - Making your own Prom dress? Join the club! in Clothing Sewalongs by givethem_monday on: May 22, 2008 10:06:21 AM
Here are some pics! Prom was Saturday.. I finished my dress when my date was in the room with me. haha

good one of the back

this one from the side..

the bodice..

here's a good one of the corset

The ruffles at the bottom I did the day of prom which is why they aren't as good looking as they could have been. And I didn't topstitch the top of the bodice which pissed me off cause you can see the lining. I also wish I could have had more tulle so the petti would have held up better. And the damn grommets kept popping out of place. No one noticed though.. It was well received. I was happy. Maybe I'll bleach it and add some lace when I want to get married. haha

2  Black and White Gingham Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by givethem_monday on: August 26, 2006 09:13:08 PM
This dress was so fun to make.
I lost weight and had to put ties in the back which look even cuter than just a zipper.

3  Olive and Curtain Vest! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by givethem_monday on: August 26, 2006 08:44:01 PM
From scratch. This came out so well. I just wish it wasn't so poofy. Winter will welcome it though. I was told the floral looks like curtain fabric. It's really uphostery fabric.

side detail.

the inside is all the cream flower fabric. I was planning on it being reversible but the all-around floral just looks obnoxious.

My first post! I've been reading for a while, never posting because I don't have a camera to take pictures of anything. Today I used my sister's phone camera, I apologize for the poor quality. Well, I discovered Rag Shop one day restocked and AWESOME. So to the finally-in-stock jersey section I went. Bought me some navy jersey and thread and got sewing. I decided against a pattern and just winged this one. I wanted a circle skirt dress that sat on my waist because I actually have one. I made the skirt and realized that I didn't have much fabric left. There was a medium sized square and a whole bunch of curved triangle pieces left over from the circle. So I used the square for the back (which is just a plain piece, not pictured) and a piece in the front. Used the triangles for the boobie pieces. Tied leftovers of the boob pieces in a knot in the front and that's the dress! Hope you like it!

I'd love feedback, I'm so happy how this dress came out.
EDIT; Pictures better? I really need a camera
