1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / t shirt quilt? on: December 14, 2006 06:29:11 PM
So my mom really wants to make a quilt out of my brother's old t-shirts but  has never done such a project before. Has anyone made a t-shirt quilt before? Any tips/suggestions?
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / people with dry skin deserve to smell good too!! on: November 09, 2006 05:28:26 PM
So in winter I get really dry skin and need to use a moisterizer specifically for severly dry skin that smells...mediciny. If I wanted to make it smell nicer, could I just put a couple drops of perfume into the bottle? What else could I do, what are my options?

4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / pad holder/dispenser on: August 07, 2006 09:08:27 PM
again, inspired by the Cut Out and Keep blog.

It's black all around (except the girly skull on the front) with Mod Podge all around to (hopefully) help prevent water damage. This will be even cuter when I actually have my period and my mood matches the box  Wink

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / comic book earrings!! on: August 07, 2006 08:56:48 PM
the Staples near me had a free comic book, so naturally I swiped 3 when no one was looking (I couldn't bring myself to cut up a "real" comic).

spiderman earrings. The right one says "my spider sense is tingling...". The left one is spidey sense I cut up and added beads to.

this one has the best caption I've ever seen in a free comic. "Gaze at my radiant beauty and despair!"

sorry this was so long!  Embarrassed  Hope you guys liked these...

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / First aid kit with homemade hot/cold pad on: August 07, 2006 08:36:46 PM
I got the idea from the Cut Out and Keep blog. I found the box on sale at Michaels and filled it with various things. The hold/cold pack is Princess Leia print (!) and has a smaller satchel inside filled with flaxseeds.

In case you're wondering, the thing printed on the top is the schedule for campus health (I'm an easily infected college student)

notebook for fun medicine-induced notes (hence notes "from the sickie")

As always, comments are appreciated  Cheesy

I made this using 5 empty CD cases, superglue, and origami paper. The inside is the original paper from the CD (Modest Mouse has pretty liner notes  Smiley)

comments appreciated  Wink

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Guess Who on: July 30, 2006 05:17:56 PM
For one of my psych classes we had to create a game that would be easy to win if a student knew what we had learned in the class. Since we learned in depth profiles of famous psychologists, my group created this:

We took an old "guess who" board and taped on pictures of psychologists. We also created index cards with their pictures and bullet points about them. My classmates loved it but my professor had never heard of the game  Undecided
