1  Re: Lady Eleanor Round 2? in Knitalongs by warmfuzzies on: February 10, 2007 05:51:52 AM
I wish I had taken the time to show my progress knitting Lady Eleanor, but she was finished more quickly than I had anticipated, so I'm just going to jump in with my finished Lady Eleanor.  Hope you guys don't mind!

The colors are more true-to-life in this next photo.

2  Knit Tissue Holder in Knitting: Completed Projects by warmfuzzies on: February 08, 2007 07:48:27 AM
After seeing Karrie's free pattern (http://www.girlontherocks.com/knit/blog/2006/11/25/sniffles-knitted-tissue-cover/) for a knit tissue holder, I had to make one for myself.

Tada!  I just had to share because I think this is a great project for yarn remnants from larger projects, and it's such a lovely stitch - it would make a great scarf.

3  Re: Felt Mascot or Little Stuffie Swap -- Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by warmfuzzies on: November 29, 2006 08:25:33 PM
Eeeee, the stuffies are so cute, all of them!  Everyone's done such a great job.  Peihan17 sent me a wonderful little green and purple batik puppy.

His name is Acorn, so I just had to hunt down some real acorns to photograph with him, hehe.  I'm in love with his button eyes.  Peihan also sent me a card with a cute hand-drawn illustration of a bee, along with some seed packets.  She wrote this bio inside the card:

"This is Acorn, a puppy who loves playing in the woods.  He likes anything green, espeically flowery plants. =)  So he insisted on taking some seeds with him to his new home."

Isn't that sweet?  Thanks so much, Peihan!  He's beautiful.

And here's the bio of the lil critter I sent to Peihan.

I think everyone should post the bios of the mascots/stuffies!!  They really were a lot of fun, and I'd love it if everyone could share them here so that we can all get a feel for the personalities of our new stuffed friends.  Grin

4  Re: Katamari/Amish Puzzle Ball Craftalong! in Craftalongs by warmfuzzies on: October 19, 2006 09:41:05 AM
Wow, everyone's been making such awesome puzzle balls!  I finally finished the one that I've been working on, much thanks to mintlatte for the pdf that she sent me.  I just used some fabric scraps that I had lying around to make the small one (1" by 2").

I put all the cut-out fabric pieces and some stuffing in a little bag, and pulled pieces out to stitch together whenever I had a spare moment (waiting in line at the post office, subway commute, etc etc).  I think it's the perfect little to-go project to carry around with you.

5  Hedgehog and his 'Shroom (UPDATED w/ link to download pattern) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by warmfuzzies on: October 11, 2006 04:28:22 AM
I made a shroom the other day (http://crochetme.com/shroom)...I had meant to store some candy in it, but the mushroom had turned out a bit smaller than I'd like,   so I made a little critter to go inside.  So heeeeerrrreeeee's Sammy!  (picture me saying that in a deep game-show host voice)

And here he is peeking out of his mushroom house.

A hedgehog and a 'shroom....a match made in heaven.

I spent some time this past week writing up a pattern for Sammy.  Please click on the link below to download the pdf file from my website.  Enjoy! ^_^  Oh yeah, I'd love to see your finished Sammies, so please don't be shy and send pics/links over this way!  Thanks again for all your wonderful comments.

6  Halloween Crochet Spider Web Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by warmfuzzies on: October 05, 2006 05:23:08 PM
After drooling over the spiderweb earrings (apparently Martha Stewart's design) of a random woman I saw on the street, I decided to try making a similar looking pair for myself

I based the spider webs loosely off of a pattern that I found for a crochet spider web table topper (http://www.crochetnmore.com/spiderwebtabletopper.htm).

More details at http://warmfuzzies.typepad.com/warmfuzzies/2006/10/crocheted_spide.html

EDIT: Wow, I just found this thread: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=12941.0.  Haha, wish I'd found it sooner...would've saved my brain some energy.  =p  Looks like Caradea and I both took similar approaches and were inspired by the same earrings!  Hers are beautiful, and she even has her pattern posted, for those of you itching to try your hand at some.  It *is* rapidly approaching Halloween, after all.

7  Re: i-pod / mobile phone hoody - now with link to pattern in Knitting: Completed Projects by warmfuzzies on: October 03, 2006 04:00:34 AM
pickupsticks, this is so cute, I love how it looks like those shearling or suede jackets that have been popular in recent years.  Thanks so much for sharing the pattern, I couldn't wait to make one right away...so that's what I did this weekend.

Your pattern was very well-written; the instructions were very clear and easy to follow.  Thanks again for taking the time to write the pattern down.  Sending good karma your way.  =)

My old iPod (you know, the first iPod that was released...doesn't have all those bells and whistles iPods have these days, hehe) hasn't looked this fashionable in years.

8  Lucy the Lamb, w/ link to pattern in Knitting: Completed Projects by warmfuzzies on: September 24, 2006 11:06:42 AM
Here she is in all her glory!

I actually made her a while ago, and posted about it on my blog, (http://warmfuzzies.typepad.com/warmfuzzies/2006/07/wip_frisaturday.html), but since I don't get much traffic there and am quite sure that other people might want to try their hand at making one, I thought I'd come on over here and share the link to the free pattern from Sullivans International. http://www.sullivans.net/90340.cfm?group=toy

Happy knitting, all! =)

9  There's a mouse in the house! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by warmfuzzies on: August 26, 2006 01:06:10 PM

When this little mousie isn't running around wreaking havoc in the house, he's pretty useful as a little pincushion.  Grin

10  Re: Amineko (amigurumi cat) Crochetalong Anyone? in Crochetalongs by warmfuzzies on: August 19, 2006 06:49:37 AM
Bwahahaha, I'll kill two birds with one stone here.

Ambo:  Hope I'm not too late, but here are two pics for size reference.  I didn't have a 20 oz soda can, but I hope this 12 oz can will do!

ax174:  Of course.  It's pretty similar to the original pattern, but here's what I did:

First, make a magic yarn loop
R1: 4sc into the loop, pull the end to tighten, ch1, turn
R2: 2sc in each sc across [8 sts total], ch1, turn
R3: *2sc in first sc, 3sc* twice [10 sts total], ch1, turn
R4: *2sc in first sc, 4sc* twice [12 sts total], ch1, turn

*for the green amineko, I stopped after R4, so instead of ch1 and turning, I fastened off.  I added an extra row for the pink amineko.

R5: *2sc in first sc, 5 sc* twice [14sts total], fasten off

Then I sort of used my fingers to pinch the tops of the ears to make the shape appear even more triangular, if that makes any sense at all.

Hope that helps. ^_^
