1  Chenille Chain Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by raina.storms on: April 03, 2009 08:18:10 PM
I actually finished something! The only reason is this scarf took two evenings to complete; roughly 4-5 hours total. I saw something similar on etsy and thought it'd be super cushy and warm in chenille. Yeah, I know, it's spring. Wink  I think I'm going to make another in a lighter weight yarn, too.

Oh yeah, it's LB thick 'n quick chenille in antique white and I used an N/10mm hook. The yarn calls for a size P/15mm, but I can't find mine. Let me know what you guys think!

2  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 6 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by raina.storms on: May 15, 2007 02:01:45 PM
Are you ready to see some pics??? I know you are! Grin  To save bandwidth, I won't post them all, just my faves.

Here we go!

Corben arrived home with a cute new scarf! He likes it so much, he hasn't taken it off, even though it's 81 degrees today! Grin

Scrapbook cover. The keychain in the corner says "Bad Boy."  Cheesy

Corben arrived safely. Says "When Corben arrived he got right into the 'spirit' of New Orleans!" LOL

He went camping! Says "When we went camping at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, Corben jumped right in and helped set up the tent!"

I LOVE the lobster pencil! Cool addition! Says "Lions and Tigers and Alligators??? Oh my!"

Corben played a game of pool! Says "Corben turned out to be quite the pool shark!" And the thought bubble says "Sure!... I'm ready for the PROs!" Tongue

Corben on Bourbon Street! Actually, that's where we met. Awww...
Says "Bourbon Street was named in honor of the House of Bourbon, the ruling French Royal Family, at the time of the city's founding.

The end! Says "Corben may still be nursing a hangover when he gets home." Roll Eyes  Grin
The bubbles say "I'm not tired... I just look this way!" and "UH! OH! I'm gonna be SICK!!!"

If you want to see more pics, click here! They're out of order, but numbered. Wink

Thank you so much, redheadskydiver! This is by far one of the coolest things I've ever received in a swap!!!  Kiss Kiss Kiss

Since I was unable to join the April Affair (IYP 6), bonbonz101 and I did a personal swap. Smiley  This is the awesomeness I got from her a couple days ago!

It's an altered book kit!!! Whee! Grin  There's a book to alter, foam brushes, a glue stick, some craft foam sheets, alphabet rubber stamps, stickers, rub-ons, some paper ephemera, and fabric pieces! Also, she included an altoid tin to alter and a great measuring tape pin!

And last but not least, a pouch made with a very cool fabric and 3 springtime ATCs. Grin  I love that little pouch...*sigh* Cheesy

**Thank you so much, bonbonz!!! This was/is a great package!**

6  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 8! closed in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by raina.storms on: April 17, 2007 03:31:39 PM
The cat toys or the magnetic bookmarks would make my list! Wink

Would anyone be interested in Lightscribe designed/decorated CDs? To comply with swap rules, the CDs would not have anything on them. They would come to you ready to burn, and I could take requests as far as themes/titles (music, photos, etc.). I could also use your personal artwork/photos/logos for these. Wink

Examples of my music CDs:

Note: The CDs themselves are colored, lightscribe only adds the black parts... like a stencil. Colors would be limited to what I've got. (At the moment that would be green, teal, reddish, orange, and yellow.) Oh yeah, they hold 80 minutes of music or 700 MB. Wink

7  Never too early to plan Halloween costumes, riiight?!?! Advice/Opinions! in Halloween Costumes by raina.storms on: April 08, 2007 03:22:32 PM
So this year, I'm thinking of being a mummy. Similar to this... (but not as many slashey holes Wink)

My question is, if I do this, what shoes should I wear? I really detest white heels, so that's out. I'd like to be fairly comfortable, too. Do you think white flip flops would look cheesey/stupid? Any ideas would be great! Thanks! Smiley

PS--I don't have to worry about warmth. Wink

10  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by raina.storms on: March 30, 2007 06:08:55 PM
So... I posted way back on page 353, I think. That cut didn't work out. My hair is too wavy (and the new chick I went to didn't know what she was doing), but thankfully it's grown out some. Also I dyed the under half of my hair purple graduating to pink, which unfortunately is mostly faded now.

What I want to do now is dye it all over a different color and then do teal/blue chunks. I gotta play with it while I can! I don't expect to have the job I have forever, so... play time is now! Smiley  My question now is do you guys think I could pull off black or a "soft" black with the teal? I know it would really make the teal pop. I'm mostly worried about looking too pale, especially with spring here. Undecided  Once, I accidentally dyed my hair black, and it was horrible. It looked like a shiny plastic Halloween wig on my head. I don't want that to happen again. Shocked  Btw, my eyebrows are black, so at least they'd match. Wink

This is me, but overall my hair is a bit lighter than in this pic.

Edited to change pic.
