2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Tattoos at Wedding? on: May 09, 2007 12:34:09 AM

I'm getting married next May and in my searches through wedding magazines, I've read some rave reviews of this stuff...according to The Knot, the results are "flawless, undetectable, and water- and smudge-proof."  I've never used it myself, but thought it might be worth a try...?

Good luck and congrats!

ohmigosh!  I didn't expect this many people to reply so quickly...thank you!  Cheesy

I really like the idea of framing it...and I've been toying with the idea of a coin purse.  It's just so uneven, I wonder if dimes would fall out...lol.

wokeupafraud, I know what you mean about not stopping...I haven't cast off yet and it's growing to be a problem!

and sweetpadee, it's the default DVD that comes in the Knit This projects from Target.  Really terrific DVD, though the music sounds like really horrible cheap 70s porn (not that I watch really horrible cheap 70s porn, just...oh bah).  It was totally worth it, and they show everything from terrific angles so you can pause and rewind and be sure your fingers, yarn, and needles are EXACTLY in the same place.  It wasn't all that pricey either: I got it on clearance and it came with the needles and yarn as well as a little illustrated booklet.  If for some reason you can't find one, I'd be more than happy to lend you mine!

Thanks everyone, and keep the suggestions coming!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HELP! What do you do with your scraps? on: August 04, 2005 09:31:38 AM
I've just learned to knit from a DVD yesterday...

And now I am the proud owner of
the ugliest, lumpiest, uneven,
bastard scrap of a knitted section
the textile industry has ever seen.

It's precious and I love it so so much.

The problem is, being my first ever knitted section (it's about the size of a washcloth) I don't want to just toss it aside as a learning experience.  So I wondered if you more experienced knitters (is that the right word?) had an idea of what to incorporate it into...or what you did with yours.

Thanks a bunch!
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / CAT OWNERS: Feline Goods Swap on: July 16, 2005 07:50:11 PM
Kittiecat owners...
My cats, Monty & Serendipity were wondering if any of your cats would be interested in doing a package swap of feline goods.  This way, we get to try out lots of new things without breaking the bank.  If you're interested, please message me on Craftster or email me at Nikomouse (at) gmail.  We're looking for fun crafters who sew, cook, or craft for cats.

cat toys, treats, food (please specify cat's age), tags, collars, pillows, etc.

And if you're not a cat owner, mom & dad would like to do craft trades too...!
