382  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / [ tea CD. ] +5pics. on: December 22, 2006 08:18:36 AM
first of all, I don't know if I'm really supposed to be posting this at all.  I know there are new rules about mix CDs in regards to swaps, but I thought I'd try.  If it's not supposed to be here, I'll take it down.

that said, now that I'm home from school, I've been working furiously on christmas gifts.  first on my crafting gift list are a bunch of things for my one friend who is in Vegas.  I made this 'tea' CD first.

here's the actual CD, assembled.  (ah, it looks really terrible in this picture, but whatev.)

on the actual disc, it reads:

Have Yourself a Cup of Tea: a blend of tea related songs by our favorite artists.

& here are the inserts that I whipped up in Photoshop

here's the CD in its packaging.  I took two pieces of tissue paper and cut open a tea bag and sealed the actual tea between the two sheets of paper.  I folded it in half and glued the sides, then slipped the CD inside, folded the top like a tea bag and then stapled on string with a tag I made in photoshop.
here's a shot for scale (& because it's silly.)

hope you all like it.  comments & critique appreciated.

384  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / Re: my first few screens ever on: December 10, 2006 04:43:21 PM
Good lord.  I love these.  I've always wanted to try screen printing, I've been stenciling for ages.  Everyone says it's so expensive, so that scared me off  But these might make me try again.  Love them!
385  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: [too long dress to little teal bag.] on: December 09, 2006 06:06:05 PM
thank you guys!

& it is made out of jersey.  it's kind of stretchy, too.
but I lined it and ironed in a little interfacing that I found
in my house to the band, so it's actually sturdy.
386  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: MITTENS, anyone? on: December 09, 2006 05:21:39 PM
I just made a pair of mittens to give to my friend for the holidays.  Guess we both had the same idea.  I love yours.  Great job!

388  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / [too long dress to little teal bag.] on: December 07, 2006 06:47:20 PM
so I had been working on my version of stopthefacades' Iron(III)Oxide
dress & I must really have needed sleep because it ended up being far too
long.  kept the scraps of the hem that I had to chop off and the bits from
around the 'pattern' and made them into a little bag.  mm, I hope this
qualifies as a reconstruction or else I've put it in the wrong board.

here's what I had to work with.  this might be a little confusing, but if you
look at the original dress, I think it'll make more sense.

so I decided to flip them over & use the 'band' as the top.
here's a detail shot of the handles.  I cut long strips of the fabric
that was left over after I had cut my pieces out and then braided them

this isn't my first project, but it's the first thing that i've
posted.   comments & critique appreciated.
