11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Paper Daffodils on: June 15, 2008 03:29:40 PM
nice daffodils!  my favorite flower, too... mayhaps I will make some to decorate my new crafting room Smiley.  I live in Tucson, too--and I know someone that just moved here from the twin cities area (though I'm 99.8% sure she isn't you).  I'll bet its a difficult adjustment...there is so little GREEN around here (I'm from Maryland and then Hawaii) and it drives me crazy sometimes.  If you need a social outlet, I believe they have a stitch n bitch night at Rainbow planet coffee shop on 4th ave--monday nights?  Tucson weekly should have a listing for it.  Anyway, welcome to the desert!

I LOVE this.  I have an affinity for treasure maps... I think I have to make a copy cat version for my daughter...  or maybe for me  Grin
13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Gold Metallic GODDESS BATHING SUIT! on: May 11, 2008 02:34:40 PM
Awesome!  I love the greek-ish feel, it lends itself well to curvy bodies Smiley.  I might try making my own suit...maybe... I am a 38G, and I want a tankini sort of suit to cover up gross stretch marks from baby-havin'...with my body type, I will probably be forced into making my own  suit.  My best friend is a 32 DD, so she feels your pain with the whole bra shopping difficulty thing.  In any case, it looks great on you!

awesome dress!  I love the shade of green you used, and the fabric was a great choice, too.  I want one of my own!  Grin

wow!  That is gorgeous, and the fact that it is hand stitched and king size just boggles my mind!  Amazing!

I love the colors you chose...and the mobile, and the frames...  I get all excited when I see people posting their baby rooms--I'm planning my daughter's toddler room for when we move and I love getting inspiration.

Those wall sticker things that previous posters mentioned are a good idea.  My daughter has been ceaselessly fascinated with the jungle animal wall stickers she has next to her changing table, and she's 13 months old!
One thing that I'm glad I did when putting together her room was making a thinly padded area on her floor...I took a queen size egg crate bed pad (bought it at ross, there are probably even cheaper places, too) and folded it in half, then sewed a really simple cover for it using colorful cotton duck cloth.  I put it in the corner of her room and added a few pillows, figuring that it would make playing on the floor more comfortable.  She has fallen asleep on it a few times while playing in her room.  Maybe its too comfortable  Roll Eyes.  It adds color to the room, and its a nice place for me to sit while I'm playing with her on the floor.  I also ended up using it as a bed for many nights in a row when she was first born and I was nursing her constantly (she was a finicky nurser and my milk supply never seemed like enough, I had to nurse really frequently during the first 2 months...sorry, tmi).

painting thrift store shelves/dressers always brightens things up, too... Smiley
20  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: My most ambitious project yet!! on: February 28, 2008 12:17:35 PM
superneat.  I have a penchant for...jeez, how do I phrase this without sound weird?... things inside of things.  Like seeing skeletons or the contents of something clear.  When I was little, I used to hoard tic tac containers and those plastic bubbles that 25 cent machine toys come in, so I could fill them with glitter and pretty things. Cheesy

anyway, I like this shirt.  heh.  You did a good  job...my mind would explode if I tried to do such a detailed stencil.  I'm not a terribly patient person.
