11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / GIGANTIC site with TONS of japanese patterns on: July 08, 2007 08:26:23 AM
Here is a site that has enough japanese patterns, knitting, crocheting, and others, to keep a person busy for the rest of their lifetime!

you will need to have japanese fonts installed on your computer, if you do not do a search in windows and you should be able to DL a freebie one.  someone a bit more technical then myself would have to explain how to do this.

click on each number and check out the goodies.   to get to the pattern you click on the number, then when that page opens up you click on "as for knitting figure" on my computer its a different color then the regular words.
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My nonibag, Night Garden evening bag on: July 03, 2007 06:47:43 AM
I just finished this bag for a swap that I am involved in. Now I have to make another one for me! I love this bag, but the beading took me almost as long to do as the entire bag! You really can't see the beading on the leaves but its there also.  The colors look different inside and out but I still think it is super pretty.
here is a link to the before felting photo. I used brown sheep lamb's pride bulky for the purse and worsted weight for the light pink flower and leaves (2 strands of different greens) , and some pretty varigated pink yarn from my stash (lost the yarn label). The ruler is an USA school style ruler, 12 inches across.
13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / My favorite Japanese craft swap on: May 24, 2007 12:43:33 PM
I was thinking about how much I love Japanese crafts and thought a I love Japanese crafts swap would be great. We make our favorite Japanese craft and then send them to our partner.  Does this sound like something anyone else would like to participate in?  And would you want to do a 1 item or the large, medium, small item swap?  I think after I get feedback on my current swaps I should be able to organize it. I'm thinking maybe signups late Juneish.
Sendouts about 1 month afterwords.
14  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My fruit loop hat on: May 04, 2007 10:53:41 AM
I made this a while back, but heck its cute and its food. I didn't have time to whip up some other food cuteness so I am entering this hat
15  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Mom don't look! on: April 14, 2007 04:26:01 PM
Does anyone else have a Mom that loves getting handmade gifts, but refuses to use them saying they are too nice or too special. Well I made up this set for her for this mother's day. She uses those icky plastic bath scrubby things so I made up this pattern all on my own. These are pretty (If I do say so myself Roll Eyes flowers, a tiger lily, a peony, a carnation, and a cabbage rose.  I designed them so they would look pretty in a basket in her washroom. I used simple crochet and 100% crochet cotton yarn.
16  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Mr. Snakey on: April 08, 2007 04:06:13 PM
When my youngest brother was young. We being mean older siblings would tease him and scare the daylights out of him. Our favorite thing to scare him with was a plastic snake that we named Mr. Snakey. We would also find sticks and say they were Mr. Snakey. As such, he is 31 YO and SCARED to death of snakes. But I bet he won't be scared of these!
17  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Japanese company websites with free crochet patterns on: April 03, 2007 10:44:45 AM
I was thinking maybe we should have a sticky for japanese companies that have free patterns on their websites? that way people can go and look at the different patterns we have found, since I can not for the life of me figure out how to do a google search for them in English.  I am not talking about the copyright infringement patterns, but the ones put out by the compaines.  I would love to see different types of patterns, such as clothing, household goods and Amigurumis! I am sure others would like this idea also.

http://www.d1.dion.ne.jp/~k_fumico/  look for challenge in English with a picture of 2 sheep beneath it.

18  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My Amihamster on: March 30, 2007 08:55:46 PM
I just finished this little guy tonight. He stands about 3 1/2 inches tall. I think he is an adorable little round butterball!

19  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Squashed cat coaster on: March 10, 2007 07:17:36 AM

I test crocheted this pattern for a person. I embellished mine, but hey, if a cat is squashed its tongue has to stick out.  Actually I love cats and have a black and white one at home, and he is forever under foot and is in danger of getting squashed.  The designer has an ETSY store but I do not know if she will be selling the pattern or not. Thanks for looking
20  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / I finally finished a bunch of stuff on: March 02, 2007 10:11:29 AM
Here are some photo's of my latest ami's.  I told myself I needed to finish up some of my projects before starting anything new. The squirrel is from etsy, a squirrel named potato, the bunny is from lion brand.com website (freebie pattern) the alien and cookie are also patterns from etsy (different sellers). And the panda is from the ami volume #5 book. I used a clip and its arms can pinch things closed, or just pinch you. I think they are super cute. Now to finish up another shoulder dragon for my 17 YO, he's upset that the youngest one gets crocheted toys and he doesn't.
