1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / The hanging doily lamp on: August 19, 2011 12:32:03 PM
I needed a hanging lamp and I have a small collection of doilies that I've been saving for a rainy day.  Fortunately I live in Seattle so rainy days are all around me Smiley

I posted the tutorial on my blog:  http://sundaydrivedesigns.com/blog/?p=242.  It's kinda picture heavy so I thought i would give the Craftster servers a break Smiley

Hope you like it!

2  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Showing love to those who are often forgotten about on: December 20, 2007 07:11:00 PM
Since its Christmas time, I was taking stock of my life and realized that I wouldnt be where I am today without the support of my friends and family. And I wanted to share some of that love with people who dont get that kind of love. So I started this little idea going:  http://toastyguerrillas.wordpress.com
Any information, help, questions or comments would be greatly appreciated.  And please feel free to pass this along to all your crafty friends

Happy Holidays everyone!

I am speechless.... I barely have the patience to sit in line at starbucks!
It's beautiful!
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas tree topper and ornaments on: December 02, 2007 08:34:36 PM
I have a small basement apartment and it's hard to get a Christmas tree that doesn't look like the Griswald's family tree.  We found one last year and we bought a few little ornaments from Target, but I could never find a tree topper that didn't look like it was eating the tree.  Add to that, money is a little short this year, so I got a little creative.  I got a stack of holiday themed scrapbooking paper and made a bunch of origami cranes and one large one for as the tree topper!

The painted snowman ornament is one of my Dad's creations.  We get a handmade ornament from him every year.  Even Dad is crafty Smiley
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: **Updated** my anus is bleeding...a hertzfeldt tribute on: November 10, 2007 05:31:58 PM
That rocks!  My friend's voicemail, for months, said "My spoon is too big."

I love it!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Cabled Hand and Coffee Warmer [img heavy] with pattern on: November 08, 2007 06:31:56 PM
I just finished one!  It was super easy!  Thank you so much for the directions.  They were a cinch to follow.  I'm going to make a few more for present.  I would advise against the using Sensations Angel, as the little hairs seemed to have found their way into my coffee.  I think if I plan on using yarn again, I'll loose a couple of stitches on each side.
Here's an action shot:

Thanks again for the pattern!  It totally rocks!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Embroidery - Pillowcase for my friend's wedding on: November 02, 2007 10:11:48 PM
Thanks everyone for the kind words!  The wedding is tomorrow and after wrestling with the second pillowcase (I left out a letter on a word, then I realized I left an entire word out) they are done!  Here's the final product.  I added a couple of kissing love birds (adapted from the Doodle Stitching book).
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidery - Pillowcase for my friend's wedding on: October 25, 2007 09:33:17 PM
It's not officially done yet, but it's close enough (ok, one pillowcase is done, the second one is almost done) - but you get the idea.

I found a quote from Robert Browning.  It says, "So, fall asleep love, loved by me, for I know love, I am loved by thee."

The paper is what I used for a template.  I ended up having to free hand everything because I didn't give myself enough space for the thread width.  I think it might need a few more embellishments, but I'm not sure.  Any input would be great!

Mom wants me to sell the pattern.  And I'm on the fence about that.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: boob scarf (may be not work safe) on: October 16, 2007 06:30:47 PM
So far my Grandmother has cranked out 3 boob scarves!  Mom has suggested that she dress them up a bit by putting tassels and pasties on them.  I thought that for the summer months she could do a tan version and a sunburned version.

That is genius!  I work in a warehouse and in the wintertime, it's all about a hot beverage to keep the palms of your hands warm.  I'm making these for all the guys who work for me!
