1531  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Purple Messenger bag with flap + pockets on: July 08, 2006 07:24:38 AM
Firstly I would like to thank 'gloriana' & 'SewPixie' for their inspiring tutorials on messenger bags and putting in zips.

ok woke up at 6.15am this morning (sat) inspire to make somethng with the really gorgeous piece of purple corderoy - so after a few quick sketches and measurements i made this...

with a stiched piece i finished years ago but never found a home for....

and a pocket detail...

the lining was some fabric my husband bought me a few years ago which i loved.

Whatch think?

PS After packing for work I realised that my cool new bag was to small to hold everything AND my packed lunch, so I made this to add on when I need to carry a bit more. It perfectly fits a large water bottle or 2 rolls. Luck that i had enough fabric leftover to do this and matching buttons in a smaller size too.

Hey count me in - Glasgow in Scotland born and bred  Grin- and I promise not to send ANYTHING tartan related (thats just some naff idea that an englishman came upwith anyway!) Scotland, and especially Glasgow, has so much more to offer.

See - www.glasgow.gov.uk   and -  http://www.glasgowguide.co.uk   for a few insights

Im Aileen (pronunced like 'Hay Lean' but without the 'H') not only can i never find anything with my name on it but people can never pronunce it - they always call me Elaine ('Eee Lane') wich is very odd as Aileen is a Scottish name.

I would love to be considered for this swap
1535  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Wedding Gowns for the... um.. ample? lol on: June 30, 2006 09:52:28 AM
I just wanted to add my bit to this thread - I got married last November (2005) and I decided to have a blue wedding dress. I found a wonderful dressmaker who had experience in making Historical ands theatrical costumes and treated myself to a full length corset (BTW do this at leased six months before the wedding so you can get used to moving/eating/etc in a corset). My 'dress' is actually a skirt and jacket combination based on a 17th century riding outfit.

sorry the photo is a bit blurry (mums hand kept shaking)
