So because I am sick right now my 'partner' is getting the finished shawl unblocked (for now) but hey, at least it got finished before the end of the month...which was the whole point!

... I had no idea there were no skunks in Scotland...I just assumed that all wooded areas had skunks...

Nope. they only really are found in the Americas. See National Geographic for more info

I really don't know if there is a comparison the best comparison I read said kind of like a mix of body odor and burnt rubber. Very pungent and sharp.

It's an odor that makes you cover your mouth and nose and run!

Ah - so definite advantage to living in Scotland then...we don't have skunks!!

The dog smells fine..the vet said a rinse of white vinegar (acidic, just like tomato juice but less messy)...it is just that the smells clings to everything...curtains, carpet, clothes, even my handbag...it will go away in a few more days, so I will just have to bear it! Grin

Thank goodness I had my crafting room door closed...it is my retreat this weekend!  I have a few more swap items to finish and ship so I can at least have a start for 2016!

I've always wondered - what does skunk smell like?

I'm excited this is going on another year! Can we fake join swaps that have finished or just ones that are going on now?

We can fake swap join any swap that has ever been mentioned, as far as I am aware - closed, open or proposed Cheesy

Your knittted items are just so lovely!

So glad you got the shawl done...it looks so beautiful in two colors...

What yarn did you use for the Dr. Who mitts?

And those gloves...I need to learn to make gloves!  I suppose it is just like making the thumbs on fingerless mitts, only going longer?  Do you have a pattern link for those?

Thanks Smiley

The DR Who mitts are knitted in 'Blue Box Exploding' colourway on Swagger from Nerd Girl Yarns

And the Gloves are mainly based on a Drops Pattern but with a few pointers about how to knit the fingers from another pattern

It turned out beautiful!

Definitely going to bump this one up my list for 2016!

Grin Thanks. Insanely I am thinking of making another one for myself  Cheesy

OK, everyone...only two weeks left to finalize any "swap" finishes!!!

Shall we do this again next year?
Sounds like a plan to me  Wink
