1  Neanner's munchkin hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by norahkate on: May 02, 2012 04:06:50 PM
Just made this hat from the pattern at http://neannersshop.blogspot.com/ - Can't you just picture it for newborn photos? I love it!  Cheesy

How awesome of her to share this pattern!

(doll's head is smaller than an average newborn)

2  Re: Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Rd 11 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by norahkate on: June 15, 2011 07:53:59 PM
Here is my beautiful package from IdlersDesign.  The cloths are so nice...they are made from an antibacterial cotton, how cool is that?!  Cheesy

I told her that I was joining this (at least partly) for my mom because she loves knit and crocheted dishcloths and i don't make them for her nearly as much as i should.  Embarrassed  The only problem is that i am going to have a hard time sharing these!

Then she sent a couple awesome extras...a cloth diaper (i have never tried anything fancier than a plain cloth diaper and pins) and a childrens book...my partner is from the Netherlands as are a couple people close to us so this will be wonderful for the kids to share with them (and entertaining to listen to me reading in a language i don't know)!

Thank you so much for such a great package!

Here is Rosie helping open the package.  Who needs scissors?   Roll Eyes

okay, so here is the package i sent...
a slouch hat from her wists and a somewhat matching one for her daughter

heart crayons for the little one

A set of reusable paper towels from her wists...i embroidered fruit on the plain ones to match the fabric of the others.  They are backed with cream colored terry cloth.

this is just an extra i made at the end but i love it!  it is a light switch plate with an illustration from alice in wonderland (disney version).  i love making these!

a gathering apron from her wists.  i don't model it well, but it turned out pretty cute and very practical...what an awesome idea.

a scarf/necklace type thing from her wists...very chunky warm yarn and fun to wear.

Thanks for looking!   Wink

4  Easter dress in green taffeta in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by norahkate on: April 24, 2011 05:40:34 PM
Okay, so a while back I found this apple green taffeta and just knew that it had to become Rosie's Easter dress.  The original plan was to make a matching bonnet, but then I bought this awesome headband so I made shoes instead.

It's hard to see the structure of the dress when your model is kind of a wiggly noodle, but there are box pleats on the back and front and a darker green ruffle and light green bow at the neckline.  very cute pattern, will definitely use this one again.

i received such an awesome package!!  she hit it right on with things from my wist that i really wanted-neck lushes in great colors for me and embroidered fish that are hanging on the wall already, a gorgeous handmade gardening journal to fill with good things from the garden we plant with the kids (seriously, the pictures don't begin to do this justice - it is even more beautiful in real life!), and monster pillows for all three of my kids that they adore.  she happened to make them in the boys' favorite colors so there wasn't even any fighting over who got which one...and candy - yum!

thank you so much!!

disclaimer: don't mind the self portraits, it has been a long day  Wink
and i'm not sure why i'm having trouble getting all my pictures up, but i will post more of the inside of the journal as soon as i figure it out.

I have to apologize for not posting pictures for so long...it does not at all do justice to the great package i received from thatkid! prepare for penguin cuteness galore!   Grin
i love penguins, so the theme was perfect...penguin cards to send out.  and not strictly Christmas-y, so i can get away with sending them pretty early (without people thinking i'm crazy for sending Christmas cards in October or something Wink)
the cutest penguin coasters and a little matching guy that i will have to figure out something just perfect for...i am considering working up some sort of holder for the coasters and using him to decorate, just so they can all hang out together.
and two beautiful dishcloths...a snowflake and a penguin.  i was amazed when i saw these because just a couple nights before i had started knitting myself a dishcloth with the same yarn.  i had (and still have) about two inches completed. Embarrassed Cheesy  i am horrible at finishing projects for myself, but i really liked the colors in that yarn and wanted one.  lucky, lucky me!
thank you for being such a great partner, and i'm glad your package finally arrived!  i was getting nervous...

here is my awesome package from goodtimegirl!  She made me the wrap inspired by one off my wist (although i like this one even better - and it's so soft and luxurious!)  and then also knit a sweater for my baby to be.  it is so sweet - i can't wait to put that one to use!  (and not just because i'm sick of being pregnant...but i am Wink Undecided)

okay, well let's forget about the         for a bit because i don't want my partner to get too excited and be disappointed by her package.  Wink  especially after seeing the wonderfulness she sent me!  Here it is in all its glory...

i had to hold little hands back from these long enough to snap a picture...they love opening packages!
first, an awesome shirt...i couldn't decide on a favorite line from the movie so i threw out a couple and she used them both  Cheesy  my husband wants it but it's all mine.

and the other line...a onesie for my little one.  well, it fits Peanut now and will be passed on to baby-to-be when she is here.  it was too cute to let wait.  i love this!  and i love that part of the movie!

and my absolute favorite?  an awesome necklace from the movie and based off a necklace in my wists.  my partner doesn't know this, but every time i look at my wists that stands out to me.  if it made sense i would have wisted it more than just once.  i like it that much.   Wink

Thank you so much for everything!   Grin
