1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Bunny Nuggets for Easter on: March 19, 2012 06:25:47 AM
I've fallen in love with Bunny Nuggets.  Something clicked with I saw the pattern.  (And just in time for Easter, too!) It's by Rebecca Danger and it's free. From their quirky ears to their fluffy tails.. so easy and so much fun to make. I made mine using odds and ends of yarn from old projects.  So far, I've made six, but I'm thinking more are on the way.

I'm planning of gifting them in groups of two or three in little gabled boxes lined with a bit of shredded tissue paper.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / My 1st diaper cake. on: July 19, 2011 09:52:03 AM
Here is the diaper cake I made for my friends baby shower.. It was my first attempt and I was pleased with how it turned out.  I lucked up on the lime green with hot pink ladybug ribbon at Hobby Lobby.  The nursery is going to be lime green and pink.

The roses are made with rolled baby socks and I used pipe cleaners to secure them.  The tub toys for the topper are stuck onto the small cardboard round with glue dots.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Cupcake tower makeover for baby shower.. on: July 06, 2011 10:16:25 AM
My friend is finally having a long awaited baby girl and everyone in our circle of friends is so excited.. she has chosen bright pink and lime green for her nursery and wanted those colors encorporated into her baby shower.  I volunteered to decorate a cupcake tower for the shower.. I found a Wilton one at Hobby Lobby (couldn't find a plain white one), and it was cute and all, just not right for our girl.  So with the help of wrapping paper, x-acto knife, craft glue, ribbon and hot glue.. I made it over.

In progress pics.. see, it was cute, just not right for us.

Thanks for looking!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / The Lapin Sisters on: April 05, 2011 08:21:52 AM
I wanted to make something for two special little girls I know and since Easter is approaching, bunnies seemed the logical choice.  2011 is a stash busting year for me.. I'm proud to say that I made these with material that I already had on hand.

The bodies are made from a flour sack tea towel that I had purchased a few years ago.  (They were 2 for $1, and I only needed one for the project then, so the other has been in my fabric basket all this time.

What better to dress a rabbit in than a jumpsuit?.. These are made from quilting scraps.  The lace trim is from a baby quilt I made about four years ago.

I added fluffy little tails, just because I thought they were funny.

I have a huge scrap bag of felt bits from various projects.. so I made carrots.

and mary janes..

They each have a charm (bracelet) necklace with a little butterfly charm that coordinates with their ear bow.

Thanks for looking.
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Christmas Cards with Inchies on: November 22, 2010 12:57:49 PM
I had the urge to make inchies Saturday night.. I also had a stack of Christmas cards Id received last year, so I combined the two and made Christmas inchies.  Then on Sunday, I turned them into the cards Ill be sending out this year.

I ran the cards through a printer first for the inside sentiment (Have yourself a merry little Christmas..),  then I went through the stack of old cards (and envelopes) using a 1 punch, a 7/8 punch, a small circle punch.. adding glue, glitter, stickers as I decided was needed (or as the mood hit me, take your pick).  These are the result.  No two are exactly alike, but I think I like it that way.

Comments or critique welcomed.
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Baby Eden's crib quilt on: June 01, 2008 01:30:47 PM
This is the first of 3 crib quilts I have planned to make for babies due in August.  This is for a co-worker's baby girl.. who will be named Eden.  I started it last weekend and finished it up today.

7  COOKING / Dessert / Butterscotch Blondies -- one of those "from the kitchen gifts"... on: December 19, 2007 08:14:14 PM
I just made up 16 jars of layered butterscotch blondie mix for my office Christmas gifts.  It's so easy and so good.

I found cute jars at the dollar store and layered the mix in like this..

1 cup bisquick
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butterscotch morsels
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 cup bisquick

The results:

I made a little tag with the instructions that I've attached with some twine..

Do you think these are an okay sort of present?  My office is mostly women and they all love to cook.  We have three men, but I had planned on giving these to them too.

Here is a jar with the tag tied on with red and white twine (I love this stuff).. and I made a couple of batches to take to work so that folks could sample the goods.

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas presents for the girls.. aprons!! (lots-o-pics) on: December 13, 2007 04:41:25 PM
I recently participated in an apron swap here and had so much fun that I decided to make aprons for all my book club girlfriends for Christmas.  Just like in the swap, I tried to consider the recipient and make something that I hoped would appeal to her.  (As you can tell from the aprons below, my friends are an eclectic lot.)  I made a pair of coordinating potholders and a felt pin to go along with each apron.

I'm hoping they will like them..

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / To brighten a co-workers bad day.. on: October 25, 2007 07:36:15 AM
I found one of those cans of compressed air in the supply closet and made a new label for it.

10  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Basilisk Sandwich... mmmm, tastes like chicken. on: September 24, 2007 09:27:41 AM
I've posted this in the recipes section over at my Harry Potter Crafts group at yahoo groups.. but I thought maybe some of you that aren't members there might like to see it too.

Last halloween, for our office lunch, in addition to the finger sandwiches I posted earlier.. I made a "basilisk" sandwich.

I bought frozen bread dough and thawed a couple of loaves in an olied ziplock bag (I figured a two loaf snake was as big as my oven would hold).. once it was pliable, I shaped it and put it on a baking sheet to rise (followed package directions, pretty much).  Then baked..

I sliced the "snake" crossways and filled with lettuce, tomato and store bought chicken salad.  I made his eyes with a couple of olive slices.

Everyone enjoyed it.
