1  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Bebe dress in Teen Vogue. Help, please? on: May 11, 2009 07:15:51 AM
what I would suggest is to go to a sewing store not Joanns but something independent or more specialized and but a length of plastic corset boning on a roll and make a pocket in the bottom of the skirt and insert the plastic boning into the pocket. I have done something similar in the past and it worked great it held the shape perfectly. Feel free to ask more questions or if you want a drawn out tut

The Joanns where I live does sell plastic boning on a roll so, if they are close, check them out. Those 40% off coupons really come in handy. =)

That coat is way cute.

I don't know of a specific pattern off the top of my head but it looks like a slightly modified peacoat. Finding a pattern for a peacoat and then adjusting it could be your best bet.

Good luck and post your pics!\

4  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Post pics of your vegan cupcakes here! on: August 05, 2008 04:43:59 PM
Not being vegan, what is VCTOTW?  I'll never be vegan, but I would like to learn more vegan and vegetarian recipes.

Those cupcakes look way super duper good.  Yum!!!

Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World

It's a super cool, very awesome cookbook. Definitely look it up. =)
5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: cupcake decorating suggestions?? on: August 03, 2008 12:02:28 AM
I'd tint some icing green and use a grass/hair tip and cover the entire thing in grass. It's super easy to use. Just hold the tip a smidgen above the cupcake, apply pressure to the bag, and release the pressure as you pull up. What's great is that it doesn't have to look perfect and it takes a lot less time than you'd imagine. You can get hair/grass tips at most craft stores that sell cake decorating supplies for less than a buck.
