21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: First sweater that I WANT to wear in public! on: February 26, 2007 07:36:49 AM
I love it.  I have been looking at some vintage patterns, too, and I do love them.  What a neat sweater!

23  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: getting a smoke smell out? on: February 02, 2007 06:50:41 AM
Thanks for the help.  I think I'll try the fabric freshener idea and see how that goes.  Then, I'll knit it up and THEN I'll wash it.  I hope I can stand to work with it before then.  It's so gorgeous!  (noro always is!)
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / getting a smoke smell out? on: February 01, 2007 02:39:45 PM
Has anyone had any luck getting the smell of cigarette smoke out of yarn?  I ordered some yarn online, and I forgot to ask if it was from a smoker or not.  It was.  It looks great and I'm totally satisfied with the transaction, but now...  I need to get the smell out!!!  Any ideas?

I like the shaping on those armwarmers. Any chance of a pattern?  Moms rule!  (I know because I have one and I am one!)

I LOVE it.  (Of course, I would, since I knitted the same hat and wore it for Halloween!)

What a cool dad!

30  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Christmas Stocking (somewhat img heavy) on: December 18, 2006 01:25:38 PM
I am not pregnant (but I am nursing!) and I did shed a tear.  Possibly because we have gone through a lot of family things lately as my FIL had an untimely death a few weeks back.  I can't imagine how hard it would be at the holidays to not have any reminders of what Christmas was to you as a child.  My favorite things are the pictures of my husband and his sister with Santa and me and my brother with Santa.

What a THOUGHTFUL gift.  It won't matter when he gets it -- there's never a bad time for something so special.

Nice stocking, too!  I only recently learned to knit, and so I haven't quite had the chance to knit stockings, but soon now!  Hopefully for next year!
