11  My little Yoda in Halloween Costumes by Skrabadoo on: October 28, 2010 05:01:55 PM
I got the idea to make this costume last year thanks to someone on this site.  Plus my partner is a huge nerd.  LOL

I made the hat out of fleece and cut down a child sized karate uniform.  The brown fleece coat underneath is hers and she is wearing a beige turtleneck, beige pants and a beige belt from a thrift store.

Her lightsaber is a green glow stick.

I only wish her ears would stick out on their own, in the last picture her dad is holding them out...oh well.

12  Re: WoW(World of Warcraft) Swap (Sign ups 1/30-2/13 & Send outs 3/13) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Skrabadoo on: February 01, 2010 06:19:04 AM
Any Canadians joining this swap?  It's so expensive to ship to the US from here and then there are the pesky customs...

I'm a total WoW widow, I have a lvl 80 Blood Elf Shadow Priest.

I made some WoW onsies when my little one was born

13  WoW onesies for my new little one in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Skrabadoo on: July 23, 2009 05:40:58 AM
My partner loves World of Warcraft.  Since I love him I thought he'd like our little one (due any day now) to have her own special WoW onesies.

I googled for some ideas and just "borrowed" them.  I got some iron-on flock letters on clearance at Micheal's and used some second hand onesies.

It was super quick and easy.

I also made another one but I don't have a picture.  It says "my diapers are epic" on the bum.

14  Fabric balls for my nephew for Christmas (with picture and link to pattern) in Winter Holidays by Skrabadoo on: December 20, 2007 05:37:03 PM
I am a new auntie.  In honour of my nephew's first Christmas I made some fabric balls.
They were really very easy to do.  I made three in under an hour and they are great for using up scraps.

I used the pattern and instructions from this website which I found via the craftzine blog.

I added the tags so that they would be more interesting and easier to hold onto.

The blue ball was my first attempt and the top looks a bit like a nipple but, oh well.

Thanks for looking

15  My doll costume for a black and white Halloween Birthday party (3 pics!) in Halloween Costumes by Skrabadoo on: September 23, 2007 05:08:04 PM
So I am having a Black and white themed halloween birthday party and I am making a costume of a dead doll.  I was inspired by zosomoto's creepy spider loving rag doll here...

Here are the pics so far.  It took me about an evening's worth of work.  I used velcro for everything since I am still scared of button holes and zippers.  I didn't use a pattern, just the great circle tutorial found here...

Should I keep the apron, or do I look too much like a French maid? I have black and white striped tights and a while puffy sleeved blouse to wear underneath.  I'll be wearing black ballet flats as well.

Thanks in advance

16  Re: TUTORIAL: Singlet Style Shopping Bag (like the plastic shopping bag) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Skrabadoo on: August 01, 2007 05:08:21 PM
I'm so sorry, I simply can't stop making these bags.

This one is made from two sheets I found at Value Village.
My guess is that the blue sheet is older than me.  Wink
It is lined in a white sheet.

A friend of mine lent me 6 books to read (they were in a plastic bag! gasp!) so I returned them in this bag.

17  Crayon roll (with 3 pictures) in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by Skrabadoo on: July 31, 2007 02:48:37 PM
Well I've made a few knitting needle rolls but my 2 year old nephew doesn't knit (yet...) so I thought I would make him a crayon roll like the ones I've seen here.

It fits 26 crayons, I only have a pack of 24 but I'm going to add another black one and maybe another yellow since my nephew is obsessed with that colour at the moment.

Here it is open

Here it is with the flap closed

And here it is all rolled up

It was pretty easy and took about an hour.  Next time I'm going to make one that closes with velcro since my nephew can't tie a bow (yet...)   Cheesy

I am seriously addicted to these bags.  I use one almost every day.  I love them and everywhere I go people complement them.

Here is my latest which I gave to my sister

It is lined with beige broadcloth.
Thank you so much for the tutorial

19  Re: Countdown to July Harry Potter Swap! in The Swap Gallery by Skrabadoo on: July 06, 2007 06:07:46 PM
Be prepared to be amazed!!!!!

I received from hp_nerd and it is amazing!!!

She crafted with the theme "Hogsmead"

This is the big box o' HP goodness.  The hot pink thing is a take out box filled with magical tea

Gryffindor "spiritwear" cuffs, embroidered in gold

First of 2 amazing t-shirts.  It says "I believe in Crumplehorned Snorkacks"

Second of 2 amazing t-shirts.  It says "Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have!" and written on the back is "Hermione"

A ton of sweets from Honeydukes.  I already ate the vampire pastilles (red berries).  My boyfriend is eyeing the treacle chews

And last but not least an amazing Gryffindor journal and pen.  See how cool they are labelled...

I warned you guys that you would be amazed.
Thank you so much hp_nerd, your skills astound me.

Thank you so much for the tutorial.  I was able to make a bag as well.  I didn't put a pocket on it because I was struggling a bit and just wanted it to be done.  As soon as I figured out the handles it was pretty smooth sailing.  The print is of cute little grey mice with pink ears, the lining is solid blue.

My goal is to fill up my plastic bag holder with fabric bags! Oh and to make one masculin enough for my boyfriend to want to use.

Thanks again!
