2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: have no clue where this goes but....80's Clothes!! on: October 05, 2006 04:53:04 PM
uh, i'm going to age myself..lol. but when i was in junior high, it was neon pink or anything neon t-shirts with shoulder pads, stretch leggings, scrunched up socks, and keds or just keds no socks. the jewelry consisted of big hoop earrings that matched said shirts and jelly bracelets. the hair was long with teased out bangs. ask me how they did that. lol. think saved by the bell.

here's a link with an example: http://www.mables.com/80s-clothes-womens.php

thanks for all the good wishes. i'm a stay at home mom now and have been doing some knitting when the baby sleeps.
motherhood gives you barely any time to go on the computer! heh. ^_^;;

finished the blanket somewhat in december of 2004. lol better late than never. my son is using it now and loving it!!  Smiley he loves the texture of the garter stitch it has and likes to grab at it.

congrats to conley on your new little bundle of joy as well!! ^_^

hope to post picture of blanket soon!

hey there!!

oo, nice to know someone's reading my blog other than me! Cheesy i'm glad that the library page was useful. i plan to update that page soon with more books hopefully! i also post a lot of cute japanese craft related links, too.

ebay's the coolest place, huh? Cheesy

i also recommend amazon.co.jp for more craft books. to read amazon, i would recommend using babelfish to translate or some other online translator and an online japanese-english dictionary, like jim breen's.

other places to look would be japanese bookstores, like kinokuniya or sasuga...if one is available in your general area.

i also lurk in the ufocatcher.com forums. Smiley

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Learning to Knit on: June 30, 2004 01:55:42 PM
hello!   Cheesy

it's not too late to learn how to knit. i'm 31 and have been teaching myself to knit since the middle of last year out of books and online, so in the knitting world i'm still a beginner.  Tongue

here are some online tutorials that might help:

the easiest stitch that i learned was the garter stitch, which is knit stitch all the way through. Smiley

dahlea, i'm glad i was able to help. Cheesy it's a beautiful blanket and so soft too. thanks for the advice, yeah, circs would probably work better - i just have to get the right size.

i've always appreciated the advice and the lovely ideas on craftster, being a self-taught online tutorial/book knitter. Smiley
