1  green and brown gingham jumper! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by indie-knitter on: November 07, 2007 05:44:27 PM

My very first machine-sewn garment! I love it.
The sizing was a bit messed up, as I had to take off about 1 1/4 inches on each side to get it to fit, but other than that making it was really enjoyable.
I used McCall's pattern M5313 and made view A.

Thanks for looking!

2  clementine in Knitting: Completed Projects by indie-knitter on: September 25, 2007 05:50:12 PM

Pattern: Clementine Shawlette from Spring '07 IK
Yarn: 90% Wool/10% Angora recycled from a thrift store sweater (about DK-weight)
Needles: Size 6 circulars

This was a nice pattern to work and the grafting worked out surprisingly well for a perfectionist like me. I'm looking forward to wearing this cozy shoulder wrap around the house on what will probably be many rainy days here this fall and winter.

This was my first successful attempt at colorwork, and I'm really happy with them.

4  brea in Knitting: Completed Projects by indie-knitter on: August 07, 2007 02:50:04 PM
Not much, just a cute little purse I made as a birthday present for my friend Anna:

Pattern: Brea Bag, from Berrocco
Yarn: Cascade 220 Heathers, color 9413
Needles: My favorite Bryspun #9 24-inch circulars

This was a pretty fun and quick pattern to do, and I think she likes it!

5  the Mitts. in Knitting: Completed Projects by indie-knitter on: August 02, 2007 10:40:36 AM
Simply a pair of 'Dashing' fingerless mitts made for the birthday of a friend who I daresay I find quite dashing, also.

Detail shot of the hand:

Pattern: Dashing, from Spring 2007 Knitty
Yarn: Reynolds Ole-Ole
Needles: Size 7 DPNs

I had to modify the number of rows in between the cables because my row gauge was off, but otherwise, it was a fun pattern to work. I might have to make a pair of them for myself!

6  Lelah in Knitting: Completed Projects by indie-knitter on: June 30, 2007 09:30:11 PM

(Please excuse my facial expressions)

Pattern: Lelah, by Christine Buhagiar
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Lake
Needles: US 6 (for the bodice and straps) and 8 (for the lace)
Mods: Smaller needles, straps, and single-crochet (to stabilize the top) instead of elastic.

More info and chronicles of progress on my blog, as always.

7  Re: Owl Swap Round 4 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by indie-knitter on: June 26, 2007 08:44:05 PM
Hi everyone!
I originally received my package on Friday, but got really busy (and then when I had pics finally today to post then Craftster was down for maintenance) so sorry Rozekitten and everyone else for the delay and now here are pictures of the great stuff I got!
For starters, there was a really awesome little quilted handbag:

And then a crocheted coin purse, a felt sewing needle book, a cute little pin, and a hairclip with three little felt owls (which I misplaced promptly after opening my package, sorry). She even included a little note on the back of a picture of an owl!

I just decided to take one pic of the small objects together instead of wasting page space with individual ones since there are quite a few.

8  Re: Tank & Tube-top Along! in Knitalongs by indie-knitter on: June 21, 2007 07:04:41 PM
Well I ended up being able to do the progress pic thing today...

I know it's not much, but I think the lace is turning out prettily. I just hope it fits after I block it!

9  MY PACKAGE FROM DISNEYFAN!! in The Swap Gallery by indie-knitter on: June 21, 2007 06:58:25 PM
Okay I'll try not to make this too long, but I received my completely and incandescently awesome package from DisneyFan today, and I wanted to share some pictures.
First off, a set of Office postcards:

I don't know if you can see cause of the flash glare, but the bottom left one is *the kiss* from Casino Night.
Also a pair of crochet slippers:

Of course, these are no ordinary slippers...

They've got George Foreman Grill-marks on the soles! I would've never thought of that. I love the separated big toe and the mary-jane strap, too! I will be wearing these a lot.
Also, there was a great handmade journal titled "DEEP THOUGHTS FROM THE OFFICE" with funny quotes at the tops of every couple of pages. My favorite is this one..."Jim Halpert: I miss Dwight. Congratulations, universe. You win". I tried to take a picture of the pages but my camera wouldn't focus well, so I guess you'll just have to settle for one of the whole thing.

The pattern is here:
