1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Wedding Quilt of Doom - Finally finished! on: March 20, 2008 10:32:17 AM
This has been the project that ate my life for the last eight months - a wedding gift for my cousin, inspired by the book 'Scrappy Duos' (which is fabulous, btw). Finished at last:

It was my first machine pieced project, and maybe my points don't always line up just so, but you can't tell from far away! Hand quilted, cause I can do it in front of the TV. A close-up (which I picked for the perfect points!)

Thanks for looking! Smiley
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / 2-D dress form - anybody tried? on: January 16, 2008 07:58:30 AM
I have recently come across this website - http://www.yourpersonalfit.com/ - that advertises creating flat representations of your personal body, so you can change a pattern to fit you before you even cut into the fabric. Its basically 7 different pieces that you lay under the pattern to see where your personal measurements would deviate.

I am a pretty accomplished sewer, but I tend to avoid making my own clothes because I am small in the bust and large in the hips and standard patterns don't fit well. A dress form is not portable enough for me - has anyone tried this website or something like it? Is it all too good to be true, or is it worth a shot?

Any advice or alternatives is also welcome! Smiley Thanks!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sashiko Make-up Roll on: December 04, 2006 07:41:14 AM
As I am doing a lot of travel recently, I got sick of hauling my make-up and assorted around in a plastic bag! Smiley Made this to organise everything pretty-like - got the idea from a jewellery roll that I got for Christmas a while back.

The outside:

The inside:

The whole thing then rolls up and ties with a pretty bow!

This is my first 'real' craftster post, so let me know what you think  Smiley
