1  Re: Zombie Doll Reconstruction in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by awfulbeautiful on: November 12, 2009 12:12:11 PM
I used a small cocktail of acrylic paints and sealed her temporarily with mod podge. (It's all that's on hand.) I used Misty White, Licorice Black, Engine Red, Parakeet Green, and Light Cinnamon Brown.

And thank you to all above comments. Smiley She was a blast to work on.

2  Zombie Doll Reconstruction in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by awfulbeautiful on: November 11, 2009 11:03:17 PM
I really wish I had taken a before picture. I'll keep searching for one.

Some back story on the doll. One of my mother's co-workers bought it for me as a gag gift one Christmas because she thought the depressed look on the doll's face reminded her of me. I didn't think it was as funny as she did. The doll stayed in storage for a while until last night when I discovered it while sorting through boxes. I debated what to do with it, since I always feel bad just throwing away gifts, even if I hate them, so I thought I'd ... hack off her leg. Then I had inspiration! Zombie!

Okay, maybe it's a little bit of a sick and twisted path, but it worked.

I present Zombiedoll! Who sort of reminds me of Hayley Mills. I'm still working on clothes. And... better pictures. As usual, my camera batteries died mid-photo shoot.

I thought she'd make a nice ballerina. Costume still in progress.

Oh look, you dropped something there.

I just realized that some of these are sideways. I'll try to fix them... after I sleep.

3  Slightly Ridiculous Skully Headband (Edited, slightly better pics) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by awfulbeautiful on: November 03, 2009 09:34:47 PM
I'm pretty sure this is being posted in the right place, but if not please move it. I haven't posted anything here in the longest time.

Actually, I'm a little nervous too. Excuse my ramblings. ^^;

It all started when I was playing around for the first time with this Sculpey that I've had for oh... two years or so. (I'm a little slow on the uptake.) I started making little skulls out of it and I had an epiphany- I also have this super cute fabric with skulls on it! After tumbling the combo around in my head, I thought that I had a headband that needed to be recovered, so that was a perfect place to start, and here is what I ended up with.

(I apologize in advance for crummy webcam photos, I seem to have misplaced the cable for my digital.)

Here it is being modeled by my lovely assitant.

A top down(ish) view.

And closer up of the bow.

The digital was acting up, but I found the cable. In these you can see the pretty dark green of the fabric.

4  Emo Boybot. Crazy cute. in Stenciling: Completed Projects by awfulbeautiful on: August 21, 2006 08:37:04 PM
My best friend and I often make fun of my boything for being well... robotlike. So after making a cutesy stencil of boybot and girlbot holding hands (I can't find the shirt to take pictures) I decided to make this one for days when the boy is less than chipper. Wink

Oh, I think this is my first post of an actual project here. Woohoo. Anyway, on to the pictures!

Lying flat. (Still wet and not touched up any)

And Semi-in action- it was so hard to take this picture, and I am a vain goat who ALWAYS takes pictures of herself.

"I'm so blue."

It's my first real stenciling job, so I'm relatively proud of it. Smiley
