1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Mrs. Lovett on: March 25, 2010 11:12:50 PM
General unrequited tips on sketching: Shade more. Shading is scary at first! But shading makes things more dramatic and less washed-out. Resist the urge to smudge the graphite with a finger or overuse a tortillion. Blocking with a light touch using the hardest pencil you have is a good idea, especially when you're training your eye.

Looks like you have a knack for sketching. Keep practicing!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help me make this wrap and snap sweatshirt!! Patterns, advice? on: November 07, 2009 07:53:28 PM
Looks to me like it's just a snap on the back of the sweater, not on the end of the other flap.

Awesome. You even perfected the nurse poses!

I'm confused, are you going to be a pirate or a hippie?

Macros of any object are almost guaranteed to look great. Have you considered looking through a photography book? Even if you search lifehacker.com they have some good photography articles.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: twisted hemp necklaces on: January 21, 2009 09:26:15 PM
Try more complex knots. The same knot continuously gets boring.

You win at art!

Man, you guys are so cute. I am jealous! Superb costumes and ideas.

Ah, yes. The classic hemp jewelry stage. I went through this stage and it lasted a few years. I even sold most of my stuff for a while and made money on it. Good work. You've got some good variety in there, much better than the usual square knot/half knot stuff. I really enjoyed doing half-hitch work, myself.
