So I have a minor flamingo obsession, it started with lawn ones, because I like the kitschyness, mostly I have kept the rest of my collection to my bedroom. But these escaped

I live at number 8, but I haven't gotten around to getting a number, people are always moaning that they can't find the house. So in a fit of inspiration today, I free handed these. Crappy paints so I'll have to do something to protect them. But no-one is going to lose my house now!

I wasn't kidding about my bedroom. It's very small only about 10'x10' but there is a very substantial flamingo flock

Holy crap, today's my 10 year Craftsterversary!!!

Happy anniversary!!

I had to check mine, I passed it last year and didn't know about it, so no cyber cake for me. But it will be my eleventyeth anniversary in June. There was a chuckle when I saw the date, 20 June. I get my holidays every year on the 20 June, so it is no surprise that I signed up on that date.

Woohoo my partner received, so my final lot of homework coming up

Class/Challenge/House Pride: COMC
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name:  Chainmaille bracelet
Brief Description: Made from silver coloured links. I swapped with the always amazing RovingAnarchist in the recent vikings and ninjas swap, we did an exclusively viking themed swap, I made her this chainmaille bracelet
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Flying
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name:  wrap apron with embroidery
Brief Description: I used a rune for the ebroidery and it is very much a besom, twig shape. I loved the style of this apron so much that I made two, one for me and I use it all the time now, it keeps me clean and I am a messy pup when it comes to cooking.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: History of magic
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name:  Raven stamped fabric
Brief Description: for me ravens always figure in important times of my life, the tend to signify endings- good ones, where the old crap gets cleaned away. My partner in the swap loves ravens and celtic knotwork, so I made a lino cut from a design I found online. I stamped her up some fabric to use.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: SOAR
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name:  Shrine to Odin
Brief Description: making shrines is something that I adore, definitely something I was born to do as it brings together a lot of my different favourite craft techniques, this involved poly clay for the runes, sewing for the pouch, painting and decoupage for the shrine itself.

Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Headmistress challenge April
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name:
Brief Description: Journal
Project Picture: This was hand stitched (no glue) it has a leather cover and will hopefully be very helpful to the recipent.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: floo-shell cottage
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name:  pillowcases
Brief Description: I find fabric printing very relaxing, the repetative movements focusing on where to put the next print (I eyeball everything!) keeps me deep in the crafting zone, very peaceful. Sewing is second nature to me, so the whole process of making these was very calming.

These pillow cases were sent to my partner in the viking swap.

edel I read in your profile you're in the west of Ireland. That's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. We have friends in Ireland and have travelled through the country a few times. When we're there, we always point out small cottages that we'd like to buy to retire to when we're older, but dreaming is easy. To actually live in rural west coast Ireland isn't easy I think. It's not just fabric stores you're far away from, but I also see how an environment like that would indeed boost your creativity. Having lived in the Netherlands for almost my entire life, where everything is flat, neat, square and planned, I have always loved rugged places like Ireland and Wales.

I really like your hexie project, it's such a wonderful idea to stamp over it! But you're one of the few people on here who isn't bitten by the hexie bug?

I am sort of in the east of the west, if that makes any sense, Ireland is divided by the river shannon and I am on the west banks of one of the lakes, but inland, the coastal scenery and the burren is indeed spectacular. Living there is as easy as anywhere i guess, you need a car, but Ireland is very small and there are loads and loads of dutch people living here. But there is a quiet beauty to the Netherlands too, it has been years since I have visited, but all the regular squares may be the reason you like patchwork.

Hexies are too slow for me, the project I made was fairly small (about 20cm^2) but it took ages!!!

Craftylittlemonkey, that quilt is great, such a good idea and it would be brilliant as a hanging organiser (or an advent calender)

I swear, each time i see anything flamingo, I think of you edlec.

I seem to have developed the ability to spot a flamingo at twenty paces! I was shopping today and spotted a tiny one across the room in a kids jigsaw...I am obsessed.

I received! It's late here (way past bedtime) but i wanted to show you what i got. My partner went with my flamingo theme. She sent a zipped pouch and a pillowslip from flamingo fabric. She also sent the extra fabric in case i could use it. For extras she sent a scarf with a flamingo print, beaded earrings and a Peter rabbit pendant. Thanks partner! This one took ages for the mail gods to send.

The whole package

Challenge 1, my collage (OK I have just realised that one of those is a 2017 quilt, it is the sweater quilt -top right-for the geezer swap, I plan to make one similar for me)

there is a close up showing fabric I printed with my daughters initial, that quilt is on her bed, the rest were craftster swaps or gifts.

The hexxie was my first (and last) hexxie attempt, it is over printed with a bee lino cut. The pouches in the corner of the collage, also have some printed fabric, Mushrooms in red and butterflies in grey.
