Baked pasta with loads of roasted veggies and lovely smoked cheese.  Very tasty!

Yesterday we had peppers and chorizo with a nice butter lettuce and tomato salad.  Super tasty! I like to think the veggie content balanced out the huge amount of fat in the sausage...

A couple nights ago I made tapas.  Spanish tortilla, lemon garlic shrimp, roasted red pepper with onions, manchego-like cheese, olives, and bread.

I love the idea of a rose print gown! And also using your village hall, so much more intimate and personal than using some big hotel.  I took a look on the Butteric/McCalls/Vogue site and didn't find anything really close to that, but I did find this, which I think would work really well with the theme and look beautiful in a rose print

I think if you want to get a pattern  for a dress with a similar collar to the Pronovias one you found, you'll probably have better luck looking in the costume section of pattern books, because it almost has an 1800's feel to it.  Good luck!

I made these with my kindergarten class this week.  I had them trace out their hands on black paper instead of using paint to add a little motor skills practice and save on time and mess.  They came out looking so cute!

27  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / a fossil dig for kindergarteners on: March 31, 2011 05:14:49 PM
Hi all!  I'm doing my student teaching in a kindergarten class and we're just about to start our dinosaur theme.  My cooperant teacher wondered aloud about the possibility of turning the sand table into a fossil dig.  Since I had no plans for spring break, I broke out the salt dough:

I made a bunch of shapes and sizes to give a little variety.  The plan is to take all the sand toys out of the table and replace them with old paint brushes and sieve to "excavate" the bones.

I also have a small shoebox of real fossils let to me by my father in law.  Can't wait 'til monday!

Fabulous!  Really well done Smiley I like how the progress pictures make her go from coquette to creapy.  Perfect!

Chana masaala with quinoa.  My friend's mom's recipe, which is always delightful.  Quinoa because I'm too lazy to make capathi and I'm getting low on rice.  Indian/Peruvian fusion tonight Tongue.
