1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Please forgive me...bottle cap questions. on: October 28, 2008 06:18:33 PM
I know, I know. This has been asked several times. I did do a search but didn't find exactly what I was looking for and with limited time on the computer didn't have time to search and find each one individually. I am on bed rest, have been for ten weeks now, so my Christmas plans have had to change since I am not due till December and cannot get out and shop.

My new plan is to make ornaments and necklaces and key chains with bottle caps. I get the gist of what to do but I need a little more help with how to add the pictures and seal them and the like.

I did find a tutorial for punching the hole in the top of the bottle cap on another site so that was helpful. Just wasn't able to find one about sealing the picture in and what not. Also...if you happen to know of a great supplier of the bottle caps that would be awesome too!

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Need help picking interfacing on: June 27, 2008 07:40:34 AM
I've bought three different kinds in the last week or so and I'm just not sure what to get. When I go in and ask for help I always end up getting home with fusible webbing (Wonder Under and something else.) and I'm just not sure how well that will hold up a little bag. I am just using quilters cotton and the first bag is only going to be about 7 inches tall but I would still like it to stand a little and not fall over. The second bag I plan on making is a taller diaper bag, about 19 inches (maybe more) and I know for sure I do not want that to fall over. I plan on using quilters cotton for that one as well. So...which interfacing do I buy? I read on here somewhere that someone uses Pellon 90, how would that work in what I'm wanting to do?
Thanks in advance!!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Car seat ponchos? on: January 05, 2008 09:28:25 PM
Has anyone attempted to make their own version of this awesome car seat poncho?http://www.carseatponcho.com/instructions.html

I am thinking about trying my luck at making one...so am I seeing this right? The material is a rectangle turned crooked so it looks like a diamond with a hood in the middle and a zipper from one corner to the middle?
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Sewing rows together need help on: January 05, 2008 09:25:16 PM
Okay so I am atempting my first "quilt." It's just some old jeans cut up into squares and then machine stitched with a half inch seam on the outside...making a rag quilt. I have the first row of eight squares (yes, it's small!) together and the second row but I am so lost on how to sew them both together with the seems and what not. Wow, this probably doesn't make any sense! But if anyone knows what I am trying to ask...please answer. THANKS!!

6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need help with needle alignment on: December 31, 2007 06:04:04 PM
I do have the manual but it doesn't mention anything about that. I've read it over and over again. I did get it to move to the center by moving the width all the way to zero...but that only helps me on a straigt stitch...maybe I can figure out a way to make it work for the zig zag after playing with it for a bit.
7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Need help with needle alignment on: December 30, 2007 12:37:44 PM
I have a Singer Esteem 1732 and my needle is set to the left side which makes it so stinking hard to get a quarter inch seam. Can anyone tell me how to align it so it's on the right side (or middle at least) OR how I can get a quarter inch seam with it being in the left. If you look at the needle and the presser foot the needle is aligned with the left side of what I call the fang teeth of the foot...if that makes any sense!
