1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Porcelain doll costume.. on: October 08, 2010 11:49:20 AM
I am doing a broken porceline doll for halloween as well.

I have been loved too much so i am missing my dress just a shift and bloomers.

My hanging price tag will have the words USED and a couple prices where I have been marked down.

I'm pale-ish with dark hair too ( one time when my curly hair isnt too annoying) and doing bannana curls with big velveteen bows

My make up- I'm using some cheap dollar tree make up 2-3 shades too light for me and lots of Ivory pressed powder, round blush spots and a tiny rosebud mouth and fake eyelashes. ( I do have to wear my lasses cause Im nearly blind with out them ) My artist friend is taking some ultra fine liquid eyeliner and drawing cracks on my face and I'm adding a large bandaid to my face over the cracks ( like what a little girl would do to her dolly)
and having sharpied wrist and elbow joints drawn on. striped socks that meet my bloomers and black flats.

Creepy Note: My boyfriend is wearing work clothes and a carpenders apron filled with broken dolls and tools...hes a doll maker :-)

star8kitten- I am in 3 weddings this year ( all via davids) and I am a perfect 20 in them all ( except length Im uber short) But this particualr dress is not available in-store I think I may make it from scratch

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / So I'm curvacious and I found my dream wedding dress..one problem Its too Big on: September 28, 2010 11:16:45 AM
This gorgeous dress is the wedding gown I've dreamt about ...it shows off my best features ( legs and shoulders) One problem I wear a 20 in this designer ( according to the sizing chart) and its only avaiable in a 26.

Is it alterable?
Should I get it?
BTW the dress is only $99!!!!

Could I find a pattern and have someone ( i'd be too nervous) make it?

Utterly Amazing!! I really like the idea of having a reception in someplace not a church basement or reception hall! Mueseums are a fantastic idea ( The boy and I are huge Museum Geeks and yes I can't spell lol)

on a side note: I adore your Real Name . My BF and I have discussed that as a possible name for our potential/future offspring. Did you like growing up with it? I know Off topic but I had to ask!

Ps. i love the Rocking Shorter dress and veil!

PSS- We're not engaged but I've had my eye on getting married on 12-12-12 myself!

8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / A man's hanky on: July 28, 2010 08:30:19 PM
My BF has asked for a mans hanky ...actually several. 2 for work ( he works in construction) and 2 for dressy-ness.
Outside of buying them any ideas for the actual hanky ? ( i can dress them up later)

Something I've been meaning to do for YEARS that would be a good guy gift is to make my own action figures from regular dolls (if possible!)
I wanted to make Jules and Vincent from Pulp Fiction (my fave movie of all time)
Maybe they have a favorite movie charactor with outstanding features you could copy?

Not for a man , but last year I made my BFF an Elphaba doll ( from wicked) from a goodwill barie painted green. She loved it and its displayed with her Wiz of Oz figurines ( some of which are very $$$)
