11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: Button as focal bead in a bracelet? on: August 27, 2008 04:51:29 PM
I'll try to get a pic up in the next day or two. Thanks for the response. I realize now my desc. really needs a photo to clarify what I mean. Thanks again.
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Button as focal bead in a bracelet? on: August 14, 2008 06:31:20 AM
Hi All,
I bought a lovely vintage glass button at the Bead & Button show this summer. I tried to make a bracelet with the button as a focal bead (the button has a shank on the back). Unfortunately, the button doesn't lay flat... it rather flops side to side like a table with one short leg.  Any suggestions?

I've seen some people use soda straws to keep the chains from getting tangled. You just cut a lenght of a clean straw and thread the chain through. Then clasp your necklace as usual.

I typically use an index card with two V cuts in the top. Thread the chain over the notches so the pendant, design, etc. shows on the front with the rest of the necklace on the back. Then I slip it into a 4 x 6 craft ziplock baggie. This lets me write info on the back of the index card such as types of stone, chain, etc and the price  Smiley

Good luck with your selling!

The green and pink skirt is adorable  Grin
The lacing over the zipper is a wonderful idea to make the waist adjustable.
Great job!

I love the clean lines the chain gives the owl necklace, so cute. My favorite is the Secret Garden bracelet. The colors blend beautifully and it is full without being crowded. Good job!
