11  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / I learned how to do it! Amigurumi bottle cozy w/pics on: August 08, 2007 04:07:06 PM
Thanks to my friend amigurumigirl and her webcam LOL I can finally crochet the right way!! She sat with me online and in one long lesson taught me how to do the magic loop and how to crochet without just using the back loop.

I made this water bottle cozy from Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful

It was easy once I learned how to do it. And now to do over the lavender bunny in brown I did on back loop only not too long ago.
Thanks for looking

12  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / I too have a first ami! but what am I doing wrong? on: July 29, 2007 11:03:18 AM
Ok so inspiring craftsters have me going crazy
trying my hand at everything there is to do here lol
and this is my crochet attempt
I followed the Lavender bunny pattern here
and here is what came out

But I notice that my stitches look different from the original bunny
and other crochet things so I am wondering what am I doing wrong
can someone help me fix it. I used red heart worsted weight yarn
and it looks like i used hemp or rope.

any advice welcomed

14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bartender, make it a T-shirt recon on the rocks! on: July 28, 2006 08:52:25 PM
Another Goodwill find.  I  put darts on the top to make it more roomier and lined it for more support. The back i put ties on to make it tighter or looser but I dont think it's very functional because it slides out from under it so I think im going to make it drawsting instead.

The sleeve said Bacardi on it and i didnt want to waste that so it can be used as a head band.  A girl should always accessoize!!  Cheesy (picture of my daughter wearing it).

thanks for looking! comments welcomed

and scraps from another on the works

16  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Old Pattern New outfit (children's) (few pics) on: July 13, 2006 03:13:44 PM
I found a few patterns at a flea market of cute children's outfits from the 80's and back, and I finally used one.  I made this one, a Simplicity pattern 9989 dated 1981, out of some fabric i found at Goodwill (I think it was a curtain once) I made a few changes (the pattern was a size 5 daughter wears a 6/7) so she could wear it for a little while, instead of making the straps front to back i used the straps as ties like a halter top. I will defenitely be making another one bigger.

17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tshirt recon (firts post) on: July 02, 2006 03:45:32 PM
Hi all!  I've been lurking for a while checking out amazing recons and creations here on craftser and I figured i should come out and show you what I have tried. Well I'll start with my failed attempt at the mini dress on this thread https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16743562.0  I guess i used too small a t shirt, it didnt work out for me at all Sad but it did for my daughter, kind of. It's not a mini dress at all it's a little sun dress I had to make a few changes to fit it to her.   tell me what you think Cheesy

I still have to attach the straps and cut off my strings. I left alot of fabric on the back so I can adjust it as she grows.
