51  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Pressing flowers & skeletonizing leaves on: October 20, 2004 04:05:35 AM
Didn't know what section to put this under, but anyway...
I was just wanting some tips on pressing flowers and skeletonizing leaves.

So far, I've put my flowers between two tissues inside a book, with lots of books on top. Roughly how long does it take? And will I have to change the tissues? Also, is it ok to glue pressed flowers onto paper with regular glue-stick glue?

With skeletonizing leaves, I read of one process that boils the leaves in this stuff that I've never heard of, and one process that says to leave the leaves in rainwater for a month. Does anyone know of a really quick and easy way to skeletonize leaves??

Any other tips will be much appreciated. Thanks!!
52  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / how do you make a skirt out of a scarf?? on: June 14, 2004 07:46:49 PM
i know i've posted this elsewhere, but i'm sure somebody has to know how to do this.

i saw these cool scarf skirts this lady was selling and they looked like she had just cut a big whole in the middle of square scarf. they looked really awesome, but whenever i've tried to make them they turn out pretty crap with heaps of bulk on the sides and they don't sit very nice.

does anyone make these or have any good tips for making them? or any other skirt that has that type of handkercheif look with the four long points?
