14  Re: I need help! Military Buckles? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by spunkyPOPmonkey on: June 21, 2006 05:55:38 PM

I know that this little thing goes at the opposite end of the fabric from the buckle

this is the front of it

this the back of it
and this is what confuses me because it doesn't open it has this other little piece that flips around with sort of teeth but it looks like the belt runs through the middle... i just don't know where i am supposed to attach the other side and how to wear it. i tried to find a pic on line but all the pics i could find were of the belt on someone closed and no other view than the straight on front. Undecided

I couldn't stand the front being so plain so I added this flower with some yarn and a fat needle.

Ok so it only took me about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. The outside is a midnight blue velvet (i snatched from my moms fabric stash) and the inside is white with tiny yellow and blue flowers. The velvet was a bit hard to work with and it didn't turn out exactly like i wanted but it but turned out pretty good none the less.

I used this tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=60872.0 by dyabolica. but i changed the dimensions.

I wish i had a machine that did embroidery, i thought about after it was done i would have liked to put something on the lower right corner. I may still, i'm just not sure what. With plenty of fabric left i want to make a matching wallet and maybe a few other things. Cheesy

( ^ right here you see my semi pregnant tummy lol )

Comments appreciated Smiley

This idea popped up in my head, and I decided to make one. I had no patterns, so I took two pieces of paper and folded them in the size I wanted. It did not work out 100% as I wanted, but I can still use it, and I'm pretty satisfied with the result.

I love the fabric totally adorable and great for spring. it looks like a canvas type material to me? or am i just way off lol
