1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Messy Bun Hat on: September 22, 2017 07:03:46 AM
It's perpetually 90 degrees here so hats are not required, but my friend in Eastern Kentucky wanted one in the local high school's colors.  Red Heart Team Spirit to the rescue! I like the striping pattern this yarn provided and I hope she loves it (it's travelling to her via snail mail)

This is the best thing I have ever seen!
Such a dapper gentleman with his faithful sidekick of a cat!

Hmm, good point. What size yarn and hooks did you gals use?
I used some cheap-o sock yarn that was on clearance from Hobby Lobby and a G size hook.  Maybe I need to reblock with starch this time.  Good point also about the solids working better, or maybe a variegated with a longer striping pattern.  Not against making another one to test out these theories...

That is fantastic!  I made one too BUT my stitches didn't POP like yours do, you realllllllly have to pull it apart in order to see the variations.  Maybe I should've used a larger hook so my stitches weren't so on top of each other

So cute!  Thanks for the pattern too!  I know how time consuming it is to write these down
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Pot Holders! on: September 12, 2017 01:27:38 PM
Hurricane Irma proved to be a nasty, vicious storm and while my family and I were holed up in the house I needed something to do (other than worry)
Using this pattern:

I made these adorable pot holders, I have a lemon one that's almost complete, just needs the final assembly
