eww about the chalk! I had some recipes for cleaning supplies that included either ground chalk or di-earth. I guess I'll be looking for di-earth. Thanks for the heads up!

This is such a great thread!! I've been reading every word! It inspired me today to go to the thrift store. I picked up 2 baby towels both white and a white towel for a buck each. I'm going to cut them up to make kitchen hand towels to use instead of paper towels. I'm giving them up! I have a few more left over I don't want to go to waste, but I'm buying NO more!

I also got two metal containers I'm going to hang on the refrigerator. One labeled with clean hand towels and one to throw dirty ones.
I know I can stop being so wasteful if I still make it easy for me to do so. I have very limited kitchen space.

Question: Where can you get soap flakes?? do you just get a bar of soap and grate it or can you buy them by itself?? Sorry dumb question, but I didn't know. Also where can you get diatomaceous earth or ground chalk??

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Baby outfit buttons on: November 08, 2006 08:05:11 AM
I'm working on a baby sleeper and I need two buttons for it. A snap kind. I got the stand metal ones and they are awful. Can anyone tell me a good place to find some plastic sew on ones or something that might work well. Here's a picture of the sleeper so far.

I realized I was needing a cool pin cushion instead of my generic tomato one. I made "my art" with silver polymer clay and I used stamps on it and eyelets and brads from scrapbooking. I used black velvet fabric as his body. I also used clay to make his feet and arms.

This is so cool. I would love one of those because you could even use it to make clothes for yourself on and pin them. Great job. I can imagine it took alot of tape!
