1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Patio Umbrella on: July 03, 2012 12:59:48 PM
Hey everyone!
Im back with my biggest stencil project yet, a patio umbrella! This spurred from wanting a fun colorful umbrella but not wanting to pay the high price tag that comes with seasonal decor. I took a $19 plain umbrella from Rite Aid and armed myself with $8 worth of trusty fabric paints and freezer paper. 10 or so hours later I have this!
Comments and questions welcome!

Heres me by it for scale! Im about 5'6''

and an in progress picture

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Help with papercut moth and lightbulb! **UPDATED** on: January 11, 2012 11:20:26 PM
Hello all!
So I made this little doozy (potentially) for my art portfolio, but for whatever reason Im just not sure about it! Im not sure if the light takes to much away from the detail of the moth orrr whaaat! Let me know what you think of the composition and if you think it should just be a stand alone piece!

and the moth alone!

I donno! Maybe its too much contrast?? Maybe im over thinking things! Any type of feedback would be greatly appreciated!
----UPDATED 1/14/12--------
A bit of toying around with some velum, wire and contact paper and i came up with this, not sure if i love it but I think im getting closer.  The contact paper i colored yellow and by accident part of it stuck to some school work, leaving then impression of writing, but i decided i liked the effect and applied words to the rest of the swirl.
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Hand Carved stamps on: January 02, 2012 09:36:53 PM
This winter I'm applying for the art program at my college so i've been building up a nice portfolio this past month. I made some hand carved stamps to go inside  Not sure if this is technically a paper craft but you stamp onto paper right!

8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Foxy! on: January 02, 2012 07:54:29 PM
This winter I'm applying for the art program at my college so i've been building up a nice portfolio this past month. One of my pieces is a little scene of a fox in the snow with some birch trees! I cut everything by hand and if i remember correctly its about 5 layers deep!

Heres the little fella!

all matted and framed in a shadow box!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Presents for a new baby cousin! on: July 27, 2011 06:47:58 PM
Hello everyone! My cousin just had a baby girl and this being the first baby born in my family (in my lifetime!) I had to make up for lost time!

The haul minus tie dye onesies!

I call this one the cupcake sweater! The bobbles remind me so much of sprinkles Smiley

10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Pygmy Puffs! on: July 15, 2011 01:28:47 PM
After reading this post https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=313272.0 I was highly inspired to make my own pygmy puffs to give away! I started the morning of the premier and by the evening i had 27 made and ready to give away! This was the perfect way to use up the usually useless novelty yarns i've acquired!

I brought the puffs to the theater and played a triva game with the audience, whoever awnsered first and correctly got a pygmy puff! Some friends and i continued this game in each of the 16 theaters and then gave away the extras to people with great costumes!

here all of em!

..and when i dropped the box in my yard on accident  Roll Eyes

ready to give em away!
