1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: String quilts and quilting them on: January 20, 2012 07:31:02 PM
Would you want to do ties?  You could do one at each corner and one in the middle?  It might look cute.

p.s. this looks awesome

Out of curiosity, did you use aluminum rings for the chainmail?  Otherwise I would think the weight (even in that small amount) would be counter-productive in the healing process.  It looks sweet either way.  Rock on!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Flora the Elephant Ami - pattern testers please! *Update - I now have testers* on: September 11, 2009 04:24:08 PM
Rather then start a whole new post to show off my Flora, I thought I'd just put it here:

Her name is Ensign Lulu Pegg and she is an engineer on the Federation starship USS Noah.  Smiley  I used yarn I had lying around which is why she's brown rather then gray.  I think she's adorable and I was highly influenced by being at Dragon*Con this weekend when choosing the dress and tights colors.

The pattern was great, easy to understand and I highly recommend it!

Oo, oo, ooo!  I have a question too: what movie/show is that inspiration from?  I love that hair-do and want to see it from more angles to see if I can duplicate it Smiley

You did an awesome job on this!  Are you planning on making the rest of the outfit too?  Good luck and great start if you are.

First one is my favorite too.  Did you use a pattern?  If so, which one?

I agree with everyone else- the colors on this are great!  Can you tell us what yarn you used?

I always love looking at your posts.  Not only are your outfits beautiful and I wish they were mine but I always seem to see someone I recognize in your pictures.  I used to be in the SCA, Canton of Elvegast.  It was in college and I never had money to make good clothes and I have terrible social anxiety so I decided to stop.  Your outfits make me kind of miss it though.   Cheesy  Keep up the great work and awesome garb!

I love your dress too.  I'm quite jealous Wink  May I ask where you go to school?  I wish a college around where I live had classes like this.
