2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / flower crowns on: March 19, 2005 12:28:45 PM
when i visted america, i picked up the most beautiful flower crown from santa barbara i think it was. infact, it was. it was made of false flowers and had little butterflies on it. it looked beautiful in my masses of red locks... when i was fourteen. unfortunately, i am not 14 anymore and i just cant pull it off anyone like i did then. people ask me, 'hey, are you off to a wedding?'. i am still rediculously in love with it, but want to make one that is a bit slimmer and casual to fit in with my style now.

so, i was in the store the other day looking at false flowers when i thought, actually... do i even know how to make one?  turns out i dont. HElP?
Right down to the basics... as in what flowers to use, what to put them around. i want a crown to wear to the festivals in the summer Smiley any pointers?
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Dia de los muertos tea cozy on: February 12, 2005 12:37:15 AM
Can we see the rest of the kitchen stuff?!!

yes this is what i wanted to ask  Wink perhaps it would motivate me to continue the 70s retro theme i started last january... which has currently, in its half-finished state creates a real atmosphere of pure tack! i absolutely adore this tea cozy. i remember seeing a mexican fiesta themed stall at camden... the stuff was amazing! so beautifully coloured. this has kind of inspired me to make something using this theme. im going to have to, its too gorgeous not to.

6  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Re: UK consignment site? on: February 07, 2005 08:36:22 AM

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / its a wonderful life book on: January 02, 2005 09:15:12 AM
so, i have a 27 year old friend who has suffered from depression for quite a few years. he is feeling a bit lost at the moment, finds it hard to derive pleasure from anything even though he was a really simplistic person that could be happy with the most smallest of things.

he is one of those people that really appreciate things. so i decided i would make a book from scratch (either with paper or fabric). i was thinking calling it "its a wonderful life". i want to fill the pages with things that are wonderful about living. the thing is... i cant think of anything that isnt cheesy, and he doesnt do cheese.

can anybody help out? something uplifting, but not a cliche. and any illustration ideas would be excellent. i have loads of ideas but they are just so corny. i want to cheer him up, even if its just for a second Smiley

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: cotton stripey scarf on: November 16, 2004 01:08:35 AM
wow, i had to just bring this topic up to say how much i love that scarf. its really pretty. im looking for a scarf pattern at the moment for a male friend of mine. he said he wanted me to make him a "masculine" scarf. hear that, a "masculine" scarf. i am going to have a look for a similar pattern to this because i think with the right colour it could indeed be "masculine". awesome job, and yes, i too have a craving for mints after having seen this.
