1  Re: anthropologie necklace or accessory knockoff swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by uluru on: March 07, 2011 02:30:41 AM
Oooh, I get to start the gallery! Grin

I recieved from Pseudopix. Look at all these lovely goodies! I can't really do any yarn work, knoitting or crochet, so I'm in awe of her skills.

First, lovely soft button bangles...

Second, knitted bow. I'm not sure whether to wear it in my hair or around my neck, but it fits both. What do you think?

And my absolute utimate favourite. I love this... beautiful scarf/knitted necklace of loops and loops of lovely soft black wool. So snuggly and gorgeous...

2  Help turn this design into reality... in Beads: Discussion and Questions by uluru on: January 17, 2011 03:48:56 AM
I have offered to do the wedding jewellery for a friend getting married in summer. She's shown me a lovely simple idea for bracelets for the bridesmaids, but I'm a little stuck on it's creation. Could one of you lovely beading gods and godesses help me out?

I've come up with a few options,  I could use 4 headpins, one for each crystal, but I don't know how to attach the red center bead or the chain. I think I'd rather not have wire through the crystals and then  behind and twisted, in case it were to rub on the wrist. I'm also clueless as to how to get the horizontal crystals sitting nicely centered, and not too high or low to the central bead.

Any thoughts?

Thank you! Uluru

3  Re: 2010 Advent Calendar Swap. in The Swap Gallery by uluru on: November 05, 2010 04:22:10 PM
My little spot. Smiley

So it's opening time - I can finally break into this super tempting box that has been taunting me for a month! Smiley

Here is the ribbon of adventy fact cards.

Knock knock, who's there? Mary. Mary who? Mary Christmas!

The tradition of hanging stockings over the fireplace derived from Dutch children placing their shoes next to the fireplace on Christmas Eve. Stockings later replaced the shoes.

What do elephants sing at Christmas? No-elephants, No elephants!

Santa has a calculated 31 hours thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west.

Christmas trees such as Douglas Fir and Evergreen are grown in all states of America.

Christmas trees received their first written acknowledgement in Germany in 1531.

Pope Julius I declared Christ's birthday as December 25th sometime during the 4th Century.

Bing Crosby's christmas classic, "White Christmas" is the best-selling Christmas song of all time.

How do cats greet each other at Christmas? A furry merry christmas and a happy mew year.

The abbreviation of Christmas to Xmas partially comes from the greek letter "Chi", the first letter of the word "Christos" meaning Christ.

Poet Clark Moore is credited with naming Santa's reindeer; Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Dancer, Dasher, Donner, Prancer, Vixen, and the most famous reindeer, Rudolph.

Onto the gifts...

Lovely christmas cards... perfect because I didn't bring enough of my card stuff to uni and have run out. I'll be writing and sending these at the weekend.

Such pretty christmassy fabric! So cute.

I'm pretty sure it's a mug cosy, but it could be a wrist cuff. Fits my favourite cup very well though!

Christmassy reading!

Felt heart bookmark.

Pretty branches and leaves bracelet. So cute - I love it!

Lovely mini hot water bottle hand warmer!

Cute little button magnets - aren't they adorable! They are currently decorating my radiator.

Noticeboard and cute little button pins.

Teacup candle.

Actionshot! Gorgeous Birds nest necklace - so pretty.

Jewellery kit for making foot jewellery.

Felt tree badge.

Racing wind-up spacehoppers. Awesome! They jump so sweetly!

Holly felt badge.

Felt tree, tree decoration (already up and looking lovely on our tree)

Love on toast - tried it for breakfast! Amazed at how well it worked! Smiley

Wallet of tea! I am tea obsessed so this is perfect!

Action shot! Such a gorgeous silver tree necklace! Amazing! I really really love it!

Pretty glass suncatcher decorations. Since taking the pic, they are painted and on the tree.

Decoupaged M for my name - very cute and the perfect colour for my room! Love it!

Cookies in a jar - a yummy looking cookie mix! I love baking so this is great.

A lovely little cosmetic set, notepad, lip gloss, purse, mirror.

AMAZING caramel sweets - these are so so good!

Gorgeous glass star christmas tree decoration - I think I will be keeping this up all year round!

Beautiful, gorgeous, snuggly button tree pillow! I love this so much, it captures my taste perfectly!

I recieved from Zoma and wow - I was so spoilt! She has made so many extras and they are all perfect!!! So many different crafts too - Zoma, you're a master!!!

On to the goodies... (prepare to be very jealous!)

Pendant, beads, dye, and printed fabric. (Closeups below)

Closup of the fabric, Lovely toadstools, mushrooms, and YES that's a jackalope!!

Adorable Porcupine Pendant, hand painted Toadstool wooden beads, and dye powder to match the last item (saving it till last as it's my favourite!)

Gorgeous glittery stickers, and a lovely Toadstooly paperweight pebble.

More stickers, an activity book, and lovely handmade cards.

A close up of the lovely cards - the green one is super glittery. And the envelopes are lovely soft handmade paper.

Lovely little frog face photo frame (that's a tongue twister!) My bedroom is turquoise with glittery frogs, lilypads and bullrushes! He will fit in perfectly!

... And his smile is looking very much like mine right now - I'm so happy!

Adorable little toadstool-disguised gnome embroidery on tie-dye. So cute!

Oh my word - What a cute painting! I think he looks so smart against the woodgrain on that wall - very at home!

Look at that face! I will forever have a jackalope of my very own - and isn't he adorable!

And look!!! Zoma made this as a pyjama top (the dye is to dye some matching shorts) but I tried it on (fits perfectly) and now can't bear to take it off! So I'm wearing it out this evening! So cute!

Thank you so much, Zoma, I am overwhelmed and so happy! You are such a thoughtful and talented swap partner! Thank you!!!!

8  Re: 100 Facts About Me #2 in The Swap Gallery by uluru on: February 03, 2010 12:50:45 PM
Well, it looks like I'm the first reciever! And look at the goodies...

(Craftster won't rotate today, so just turn your head... Grin)

Here are two adorable crochet jellyfish... me and my boyfriend both adore jellyfish, the brown one is for him...and the blue one for me! (both in our favourite colours!) We're long distance at the mo, but he's excited to see them (and give them names) and says THANKYOU SO MUCH!!! (and yes, the caps were specified! Smiley )

Three adorable little amigurumi birdies. I love how chubby and cute they are. 2 are on rope, to put around the mirror of my car, (I'm learning to drive and love birds) and one on a key chain. Look at his adorable little face!

And two of these lovely little origami-ish drawstring purses. They have pockets all round the inside for jewellery. (So I can take them away with me, and not have to resort to the film canisters I usually use for jewellery!) Love the fabric, too. Looks like tiedye, but it's actually flowers - little pansies! So cute!

And, as a little (and very, very tasty) extra, belgian chocolate truffles. Mmm!

Thankyou so much, bexie-boo!!!
