1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Fake Cakes? on: April 28, 2010 05:30:51 PM
So I had no idea where to post this, but I'm a student photographer and I need to make some fake cakes (props) for a Marie Antoinette shoot I'm doing.

I have a bunch of styrofoam from packing materials that I can use for the base, but what should I do for the outside?

I thought about using real fondant, but I'd rather not use something edible.

What about using that crappy crayola clay that will dry out and get hard?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / CRAFTSMAS 2008 - TONS OF PICS! on: December 18, 2008 10:54:46 PM
So... we're broke Sad Like, don't know how we're gonna pay for rent on the 1st - broke.

I MADE EVERYTHING for Christmas.

Starting off with poly clay thingies: The gingerbreads are magnets, the altoids tin holds the magnets, the bear is an ornament (inspired by someone on here that makes AWESOME poly clay portal thigies) and vegetables for the "I spy" bag I made for my cousin's kid:

The "I spy" bag:

Now some things I sewed: Sock monkeys, pot holders with happy junk food, and a heat pad where the white pocket comes out so you can wash the outer part:

Little make up bags I made to house my soaps Smiley

Here's the story of the bad shorts: I cut them, sewed them wrong, then cut them again (I don't know why). I had to add a butt panel. Let me tell you, but panels are never a good thing.

Sooooo I reconned a shirt instead and made her some better pants Smiley

I also made her an eye pillow:

Jewelry for boyfriends mom and grandma:

Soaps and lotions and shower gels:

All packaged up!

136 cookies.

So I went over to Tierney's today to do a fashion shoot. I like these. I got some good portraits of her:

She's so gorgeous! Do you guys like?!

My friend Tierney posed for me today at Vasona Park in Los Gatos, CA. Cheesy

WARNING: Some bloody wrists at the bottom.

The bloody ones were supposed to be an exploration of my depression - my boyfriend said it's over done and the same crap that's on Deviant Art so I just felt like my feelings are invalid Sad

I know he wasn't trying to invalidate them, but, that's how I feel.
