1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Herb/Flower wedding images on: April 14, 2008 08:20:46 AM

On this website you can download free clip arts of many types. If you look at the bottom at the page, it has bottany and plants. There are many many different clip arts, and you can download them in .tiff format that prints much better.

I downloaded some from there, and then since they are black I re-coloured them using artweaver that is free is well. In artweaver you can you something called range colour or something, That allows you to change colour in different coloured field in your picture. Hence it really easy to make it "understand" to just change the colour of the black, to whatever colour you want.

I hope it helps - I think you can see my invations somewhere here, and you can see what i've done. I used a bottany picture of a harebell

You could have proper "enlish tea" with scones and jam with clotted cream. And salmon sanwiches with no crust, and tea of course.

You could always to the "Mad Hatter Tea Party" but not in the children Alice in Wonderland set up...

Thank you

I was thinking about cufflinks, but then it's a lot more work to saw out another 120 cufflink tops, as you need to make two of each.

So I was thinking homeflavoured vodka or something like that maybe?

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / STD:s and Invations Finaly finished on: March 02, 2008 10:02:43 AM
I've finally finished all the invations, and they've been sent out, We sent the STD:s in the autum.

This is what we (me and h2b) made

for the STD:s we got magnetic paper on ebay, and printed out the wedding information on the magnetic paper on our home printer. I think they was ok. The graphic was a little bit pixilated, cause we couldn't find a cherry branch in tiff format online.

then we made a square card from cardstock bought from Ebay, and stamped  with a dandelion stamp in teal. I Love teal

We then cut little slits in the card and inserted the Std magnet. So that it would look nice when people opened it.

And this is the finished result

The invitations was a much larger overtaking.
We first bought all paper, blue, ivory and blue on Ebay.

I had really set my mind on having a pocketfold as I really like them, but wasn't able to find any paper big enought in the UK that made sure that you could make one according to the tutorials you can find on the net. So I bought A4 paper on ebay, and the cut that in half on lengthwise. I then cut all the pockets out from other paper, and scored and folded and double taped them on untill my eyes bled :-). Then my H2B attached all the blue ribbon, and the last part for the pocket fold was to print our guest names on the ivory card stock, attach it to the brown 5*5 square and put that in front.

For the inside.

In the end I got a real nice pocket fold, and then we downloaded a free graphic on a educational site, that has botanical prints. I uploaded it into Artweaver (downloaded free as well), and changed the colour to a tealy/turquise blue

We wrote all our text, and made the information card, rsvp card, and map and printed it on our home printer. We then cut them all down to the correct size. And hey presto they where finished. It took quite a long time. But since I like fippling about with stuff that didn't matter.

Now I have finished all the wedding favours for the girls. (they all get sterling silver pendants with a gemstone in that I've made). But I have no idea what to do for the boys. I want it to be budget friendly, as we make almost everything for the wedding ourselves, and not take a huge amount of time as you know, we do have a limited amount of time and budget. Any suggestions??

Why don't you put a small bit of bubble wrap, and attach it to the bottom of the flower with double sided tape or glue. The bubble wrap will help the flower float. And it will be see throught in the water. Unless the flowers flip over. I do that with real flowers to help them float...

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Ideas for how to make "Save the Date" magnets? on: February 12, 2008 04:36:10 AM
I bought magnetic paper on Ebay, and printed on that and cut them out with my paper cutter.
I can upload som photos if you like. I think they looked nice.

The graphic is a bit pixelated but other then that it was good.

The magnetic paper is not magnetic enought to keep heavy stuff up on a metal surcface, like a bunch of papers. But they do keep themselves up very nicely, and maybe one or two papers...
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: hand made lithograph invitations(pics): comments suggestions and ideas wanted! on: December 04, 2007 05:37:19 AM
Hi, for the inside. Couldn't you print it on softer paper in a printer and use it as Inserts and sew them in...like the pages of a book. If you see how I mean?

I don't know how hard lithography is to do, but these seems very very intricate the work must have been imense. Are you sure you are going to have the energy to make them all??? Anyway, they seems very well made.

In regards to envelopes, take the biggest one and make a envelope template and create all envelopes to that template, they all seem to be in the same"ish" size if not exactly the same

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Wedding program fans? on: August 24, 2007 04:38:44 AM
over at http://www.weddingbee.com there is a girl that has done her own programs. I think she made the pattern and had someone else to cut them out for her. Sort of half vendor half DIY

But the result is very nice. There like petals, that are all punched together in the bottom.

I not for sticks...How about the sticks used used for Ice lollies...
or the wodden coffe stirrers that you can pick up at Starbucks. I know a coffe shop close to where I work that have a bit thicker and bigger sticks then your average.

I've been engaged since april but we have yet to set a date. Cause we haven't found a venue yet.  But this is what I/we will do.

1. DIY Save the Date Magnets
2. DIY Invitations + information cards etc etc
3. Wedding Favours - as I do silver jewellery the girls will get a silver  necklace, and the guys maybe will get a silver money clip.    Haven't decided about the money clip yet.
4. As we have not decided on Reception venue yet we do not yet know what decorations that will be needed.
5. Flowers, i will do them, as I do not want a fancy buoqette anyway..I just want really simple, dark hot pink gerberra daisys. My friend has done a course in flower arranging, I will ask her to explain to me  how to do it.

We are planning a fairly small wedding, we are inviting 135 people, but are only expecting that aprox 65 will make it. As many of the invited are living in Australia and has small children, and the wedding will be held in Sweden.

I have bought all material for invites and Save the Date Magnets. So  as soon as we have a date we are getting started.
