What a cute idea!

My boyfriend is a huge metal fan...and we're always going to shows, and he spends a ton of money on merch. This would be a great gift idea for him. Smiley
3  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Mmm Cupcakes! on: October 01, 2007 06:25:16 PM
Just make my very basic frosting (icing sugar, margarine, milk and vanilla). Grab a normal spoon, scoop out a bit of frosting from my bowl and just kind of stick it on top of the cupcake...move the spoon around a little to smooth/spread it around and to get it off the spoon. Then just flip the spoon over, and use that end to just smooth it out a little better. Quick and simple. Smiley
That sounded a lot more confusing than it actually is..lol. Hope it made sense. Smiley
4  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Mmm Cupcakes! on: October 01, 2007 01:47:59 AM
Thank you! Smiley

I'm not that great of a baker either..I always seem to mess something up. Cupcakes are the only things I seem to be good at! lol
Cookies I can usually do..sadly I tend to burn them at times..or make them far too large, that they start to bake together.
5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Pumpkin cake... on: October 01, 2007 01:46:16 AM
I love pumpkin pie...so the idea of a pumpkin cake sounds delicious to me! Especially when thinking about pumkin cake with cream cheese frosting.

Though, whipped cream is something that goes with pumpkin pie for me...so maybe some sort of frosting done with that?
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Small "Album" on: October 01, 2007 01:42:23 AM
Decided to put this here...it's not really a scrapbook, to me it's more of an "I Love You Album", made for my boyfriend of course. Smiley

Nothing extravegant, it's quite simple. Just used a few pieces of cardstock, and 'bound' them together with ribbon. Then chose my favourite photos of my boyfriend and I, attached them with double sided tape, and voila..instant mini album for him to keep. He's horrible for storing photos...we just developed a ton, and they just got added to his pile of junk on his desk.

His birthday is on Tuesday...I'm hoping he'll like it.

The pictures look a little discoloured..the flash on my camera made them look even worse. The 'album' is black anyways, with ivory ribbon, so not much of the actual colour is lost in these pictures anyways.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding Shower Invites on: October 01, 2007 01:34:10 AM
My best friend just got married this past August, and being her Maid of Honour I was in charge of the Bridal Shower (along with her mother-in-law...talk about stress..).

Due to the nut job mother-in-law, the shower put me under a ton of stress..she was very unorganized (didn't want to send out invitations, and forgot to tell her church friends to RSVP, plus much more), crazy, and had the tendency to try to change things without telling me (like the date of the shower! After invites and what not were sent out). Even with my nearly going crazy a few days before the shower..all went well in the end. Smiley

Anyways, as mentioned, mother-in-law did not want to send out invitations (also didn't mention inviting any of the brides friends or family..). I then took it upon myself to create and send invites to those that I thought the bride would want at her shower, and left the mother-in-law to let her friends know about the event via "word of mouth".

My first attempt and invitations/cards became this:

Pretty simple really..which the bride was looking for with her wedding

Colours a bit off, no flash.

The bride fell in love with them..and when she saw how simple they were to make, ended up wishing I made her wedding invites (let me tell you...hers were a pain to make! lol).

Apologies for all the backstory..that all just needed to be let off of my chest.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

I'm quite nervous right now, as this is my first topic I've posted on craftster...let's hope all goes well and that I do this right. Smiley Can't be too different from other forums can it?

Anyways..thought I'd share my cupcakes with everyone..I love making cupcakes from scratch for my boyfriend, as well as my friends at work. Everyone raves about how awesome they are...usually the 48 I make only last about 2-3 days.

Just wanted to take and share some photos of my last batch..as I felt they turned out very nicely, and looked cute. Sadly due to the shortage of 1 egg...I was only able to make 24 this time. Now enough jabbering...yummy cupcakes:

I love how my pink frosting turned out. Smiley

Who can resist sprinkles?

Sea of yummy cupcakes.

Thanks for looking. Smiley This post made is really making me crave cupcakes.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: taffeta plaid strapless dress on: October 01, 2007 01:33:28 AM
That is too cute! It looks great with the white shirt underneath, neat idea. Is the shirt sewn in? If not...then it's like two different dresses in one.

Also..I love the plaid material you used.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Friends don't let friends do only garter stitch! on: October 01, 2007 01:31:26 AM
What a great idea...I would love something like this to teach me!
I'm somewhat learning how to knit...of course all I do are rectangles, which are all starts of scarves, then get frustrated and quit. I of course..only know one type of stitch also.
