1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Zephyr Style's Tree Jacket on: July 27, 2007 09:19:29 AM
ozknitter, that looks great so far! The cowl neck was what really sold me on this sweater.

I'm impatiently waiting for my yarn to arrive. I'm using Bernat Satin...I haven't used it before, but the price was right for my student budget and they had the exact colour I wanted. I'll post progress pics as soon as I get going.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: New Zephyr Style Pattern: Tree jacket on: July 23, 2007 10:13:39 AM

For everyone who's interested, I've started a knitalong here:

I'm already dreaming of wearing this baby in the fall...

Who's in?

I just ordered my yarn yesterday...it's a lovely berry/plummy colour called "Sultana." Delish.

The pattern is here... http://www.zephyrstyle.com/catalog/item.cfm/2367447/3974520

Knit knit knit!

Its cute.  But wouldn't it be more appropriate to maybe have called it Tree SWEATER?  Doesn't the word jacket imply something less sweater-ish?

I know! I had to double check the pattern to make sure it was a sweater and not a jacket.

I've already downloaded the pattern and I'm going to get started as soon as I get my current WIP done (which is, in fact, based on Rusted Root). I really like the red, but I'm also thinking a deep, plummy purple would be nice...

Another winner by the Zephyr Gals. I love it.

What do you guys think?

Yay! Thank you everyone!

Great cardi!  I like the idea of the velcro--I've had too many button-up sweaters with gappage problem.  Is there any problem with the velcro catching on the yarn?

So far, so good... the yarn isn't terrbily fuzzy, so the velcro doesn't seem to be that interested in it.

Where did you find the pattern?

The pattern is here:

Thanks again guys  Smiley
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Swatch portraits = lovely, cheap art idea. on: June 04, 2007 06:23:37 PM
I fell in love with the swatch portraits on the Purl Bee (http://www.purlbee.com/swatch-portraits/ and decided I needed to make some of my own!

A close up of some of my fabric.

I absolutely love it. It's so bright and cheery, and it gives me something lovely to look at when I'm working at my desk.

My Cherry is done! And I love her.

My only complaint is that the neck band is a little saggy at the back. Any suggestions on how to fix this (besides crocheting around it? I'm not a crocheter yet).
