2  Cuckoo clock makeover in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by yonorris14 on: April 03, 2012 07:20:47 AM
I bought this clock at a yard sale for $5 and I knew it I could give it a new life.

I took it apart, replaced and painted the hands, painted the entire clock pink and repainted the numbers and bird.  I also swapped out the ugly chains with a string of white beads to hold the acorns.  I love it!

3  Bible cover/ carrier in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by yonorris14 on: May 25, 2009 01:11:39 PM
Ok I know.  This isn't a purse, bag or wallet but it does technically fall under the category "make stuff to carry stuff"  so... Tongue

Anyway, here it is.  I was inspired by Winniel and the Laughing House on flickr.

4  Tape measure wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by yonorris14 on: April 07, 2009 04:34:16 PM
I found this fabric with tape measures on it and I knew that I had to make myself something out of it, being a seamstress and all.  (Technically its carpenter tape measures but who cares?)

5  Crescent shaped handbags (with link to pattern) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by yonorris14 on: April 04, 2009 12:29:37 PM
I love this shape and size!  I just think the fabric is so cool too.  I started by making one for my sister then I just couldn't shake the sewing bug.

The one by my sewing machine was the first one I made for my sister.  I used a coordinating fabric covered button as an accent.  The others I used a metal grommet.  I like these better than inserting a snap or magnet because they add weight and keep the flap closed and you don't have to fumble to snap and unsnap.

I've got more of his fabric from the same collection I'm making more bags with.

And thank you to yorkiemischief  who posted a link to the pattern below!!

6  Cushy ipod case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by yonorris14 on: August 12, 2008 10:32:30 AM
When I got my new ipod nano, of course I had to make a case for it.  I think everything I own has it's own case!

I used fusible fleece for the interfacing to protect my new gadget.

There's also a small piece of elastic next to the ipod that is used to hold the earphones.

7  Black & White Bedroom with Painted Black Walls.... yes black!!: Ideas & Pictures in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by yonorris14 on: April 14, 2008 05:52:39 PM
I finally started on my room.  I've always wanted to paint my walls a high gloss black and my husband actually let me!!

Our room is only in the beginning stages but I am keeping up with the project on my blog for those who may be interested or inspired.

so first of all I have to show off this awesome antique store find

and then this is a lamp that started off brass without a shade

I wanted to have yellow accents but since I started I've been seeing a lot of that in Elle Decor and in clothing.  So I don't want to do that now.  I'll probably go with just the black, white and mirrored accents.  But like I said, I'm totally not done yet, but couldn't wait to share.

I'm going to make padded cornices that go to the ceiling but I'm can't find fabric I like yet.....

8  Feeling ready for spring in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by yonorris14 on: January 28, 2008 01:10:18 PM
I finally got around to making a bag!  It's been awhile but I just got a bunch of new fabric in the mail so I had to start cutting it!  This one is made from Amy Butler fabric....

I didn't give it a whole lot of extras because I was in a hurry for the outcome.  Normally I would have inserted snaps or velcro and maybe a few more pockets (I'm the pocket queen) but I have no patience anymore.

9  Zip Lock pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by yonorris14 on: January 15, 2008 12:07:46 PM
I've had this idea in my head for sometime now and have been dying to try it out.  I made this pouch from a sandwhich baggie and sewed fabric on it.  Didn't turn out quite as spectacular as I imagined but it eliminated the need to insert a zipper.  It took me 2 seconds to put together.  Would make a great makeup bag or a fancy way for my son to carry a sandwhich to school!
