that's adorable, it actually looks like the yellow dress for the edie rose DKNY fall line that I wanted to badly but couldn't see myself spending 70 on a dress that i would probably wear like twice. *is going to find herself a long yellow pillowcase*
3  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / fundraising for toiletry items on: October 01, 2008 09:17:50 PM
Hello all, I've been looking everywhere for a nonprofit that provides shelters with toiletry items (i.e. shampoo, soap, tampons etc) And I really can't find anything. So why not start my own?
I wanted to go about this a little different though. This is just the starting of my idea (would love others opinions, advice, whatever)
-To start a fundraising etsy,  I've seen others do it, not much about it in their FAQ so I'm just assuming it's allowed
-Have people donate HANDMADE items and donate a percentage to this specific cause
purchase HANDMADE and Eco-friendly toiletry items to donate to homeless shelters, women's shelters, youth shelters
--By handmade and eco friendly I mean handmade soaps, diva cups, cloth pads, homemade shampoo.

-So it'll be like fundraising with handmade items to buy handmade items.....

I know I know, handmade soaps and menstrual cups can be a bit pricey, but I plan on buying wholesale, I do know alot of shops on etsy who specifically make soaps and what not who wholesale. But helping out shelters isn't my only intentions right now it's also to help out small business's. I know some people who actually quit their day jobs just specifically to sell on etsy and well let's face it the economy sucks right now and some of us are hurtin.

If some of this doesn't make sense or just doesn't flow I'm sorry I'm a bit tired. I would really love anybody and everybodys opinions on this, or help, yes help would be most needed.

thanks guys if you read all of this Smiley  Grin

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Post your photography in here :D on: January 15, 2008 10:33:49 AM
I love all three of those (weakness for abandoned buildings) but especially the first one for the same reason as spirals420. But tell your sis to be careful barefoot in an old building like that. You don't know what kind of crazy things you could step on!

lol no worries I only had her take her shoes off for this particular picture, Then afterwards I had my boyfriend immedietly run her shoes to her so she wouldn't step on anything Cheesy

to the post above mine the second would would most definetly have to be my fave...your friend has such beautfiul hair. Natural light is always the way to go...for me anyways...

p.s. thanks for the compliments guys   Grin
