21  New Stuffs! (IMG chubby) in Beads: Completed Projects by StarFire on: October 05, 2008 05:46:55 PM
Here are some pics of beaded goodness I have left from the summer.  Hope they aren't too blurry.  Still trying to figure out the new digi.

The Blues:  Blue freshwater pearls strung with silver spacers.  The dangle consists of swarovski crystals, vintage german glass beads, and glass leaf charms.

Sparkling Heart:  Round swarovski crystals (in fuschia and fire opal colors) "floating" on black tigertail around a large heart focal.  The focal has a color range of sparklies going from orange to light pink.  The toggle is a sterling heart.

Chocolate & Teal:  Wire-wrapped chocolate-colored faux pearls with a round pendant.  Pendant depicts image of butterflies and flowers in brown with a teal background.

Cameo Love:  I love Cameos.  My friend and I found a bag of old cameos at the flea market this past summer and split the cost and contents of the bag.  I learned how to set them and where to find suitable settings for them.  So, a necklace was born.  Made of wire-wrapped white faux pearls, grey and pink swarovski crystals.  I tried to make the cameo image show up  better, but nothing I know how to do seemed to work.  Sorry!

Puffy and Swirled:  A bracelet and earring set.  Pink swarovski crystals paired with unknown puffy beads (pinks, greys, and mints swirled through).  I think they are some sort of semi-precious stone, but have no idea what.  The colors in them are what drew me to buy them though.

Hope you liked looking!  ^_^

22  Re: Disposable Camera Swap Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by StarFire on: September 09, 2007 12:43:31 PM
Hey guys, sorry Ive been absent for so long.  Things here are a mess.  Anyway, I recieved from cigarettesandvalentines a looooong time ago (the 15th, I think) and I know she has posted her pics for me, but I also uploaded them into my photobucket account.

I LOVE the weddin' photo.   Grin

Also like these a lot:

The carnival ride pic is my wallpaper right now.  ^_^

Anyway, thanks for the great pics and even more wonderful frame, cigarettesandvalentines!  The frame is going to house the Scrubs cast photo I got in my Season 3 DVD set...right over my new crafting area in my new home.  Whee!

I just hope my photos come out as well as yours.  My digi kept acting up (the battery case door is cracked) and I had to use a disp. 35mm camera for most of the photos.  I havent used one in so long and I hope you dont end up with a bunch of finger photos.  >_<

I recvied from Muria over the weekend (I was out of town)!

Here is a pic of what she sent:

I cant wait to start reading the book!  The crocheted bookmark is wonderfully done and she sent me an extra item!  A paperback clutch covered with an aqua colored velvet-like fabric!  Very handy!  Thanks much, Muria!

Also, here is a closeup of the bookmark I made for Muria:

Glad you like it, Muria.  I fell in love with it so much, I was tempted to keep it for myself. <3

25  Re: Big Project Stitchalong 2007 in Needlework: Stitchalongs by StarFire on: June 27, 2007 09:32:21 AM
Well it has been three weeks since I first bought this kit and here is my progress as promised:

This is after 2 weeks of work.  I had to stop for a week to work on a swap project.  Tongue   I hate craft ADD.

Starfire: Your PT will look just fine on cream fabric! I did mine with the fabric from the kit.  I just went down and looked at it, the fabric isn't that much darker than cream.  It took me about 3 years to finish this one, but the last year I was laid off so I was able to put a lot of time into it.

Thanks!   To be quite honest, I am kind of scared of my PT kit.  LOL.  I really want to buy a nice scroll frame to work it on and since I am preparing to move an entire household I have put PT away for now.  I'll pull it out once I am settled into my new home and have a scroll frame.  In the meantime, (since I NEED something to work on!) I have this one:

Beautiful Bird, Dimensions Gold Collection.
Told you I have a thing for peacocks.   Anyway, this one will hopefully be finished by November.  It is much smaller than PT, about 5x7, but the detailing in it will be a good test for me.

I'll post progress pics in a couple weeks.

27  <3 Bracelets! in Beads: Completed Projects by StarFire on: May 23, 2007 10:10:52 AM
Here are some I have made:

Pearls with jade-colored firepolished glass beads.

Pearls with swarvoski crystals in clear & very pale blue.  I call it "Something Blue" because I think it would be a great bridal piece.  It has blue, but not enough to distract from all the bridal white.

Rose Quartz with pearls w/ earrings.

28  Red Necklace Set in Beads: Completed Projects by StarFire on: May 22, 2007 11:59:18 PM
I am personally pretty proud of this necklace.  I knew I just had to buy the focal bead at a show a couple of months ago and did not know how to use it after I got home.   One night I came up with this:

Group Shot.

Closeup of necklace focal.   Blown glass bead made in Italy.  Other beads include: swarvoski crystals, seed beads, and goldtone beads.

Sorry for shadowy and rumpled background in the pics!

Earrings to match!

29  Earrings Galore! (IMG HEAVY) in Beads: Completed Projects by StarFire on: May 22, 2007 11:53:42 PM
I have been an earring-making fool lately!   Tell me what you think!

"Wishbone" earrings.  Made with wire and swarvoski crystals.

"Cube" earrings.  Made of head pins and cube swarvoski crystals.

VW Bug earrings!  Made with Bug ceramic beads and swv. crystal and sterling accents.

Thanks for looking! Lemme know what you think!

I am very interested in joining this, but probably will not even begin to start on my project until mid-April.   Also, I joke that this thing is my "5 year project."   That is, I can fully see myself working on it 5 years from now because it is so insanely detailed...but beautiful.

Here is an image:

I know it is small, but let me point out a few things.   The finished size is 22.5" X 14.5" on 25 count evenweave.    Sadly, I bought the kit through eBay (it is discontinued) and the seller failed to mention that there was no fabric included, so I purchased as close to what was included...a cream color rather than the more beige in the image.

What can I say?  I'm a glutton for punishment...and Teresa Wentzler and Peacocks!
