1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Recycled paper journals with picture cover on: May 07, 2008 02:15:28 PM
I used this tutorial to make two journals from recycled paper using 4x6 pictures as the covers.  They went together really quickly, and I'm happy with how they turned out!  I took the pictures on a trip to Washington and Oregon.

I have a stack of printer cover sheets from all of my print jobs from four years of college, and I decided I need to start using them.

The pages are identical except for the print id number.  I love how uniform it makes the pages.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
2  Washington / Washington: West / Three Free IKEA dining room chairs on: August 09, 2007 09:28:04 PM
I am giving away three IKEA dining room chairs.  They are the "Harry" chairs.

They will need to be re-covered, since the covers are covered in cat scratches.  The covers are only attached by velcro at the bottom, so they would be easy to take off.  The chairs are otherwise in perfect condition.

I'm in Bellevue.  You would need to pick them up yourself.  PM me if you are interested.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Cowboy "Boot"ies on: August 07, 2007 09:32:53 PM
I made these booties for my cousin's baby due this fall.  They have a cowboy theme for the nursery.  I saw this pattern online and knew I had to drop my other projects and make them.

They seem too large for a newborn.  Hopefully they will fit before he is too old for booties.  Smiley
4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / need pattern help: amigurumi foot with heel on: April 29, 2007 05:20:47 PM
I bought an amigurumi book in Japanese, thinking I would be able to just use the charts.  I was doing pretty well until I got to the foot/leg for a monkey...  I have no idea what this means.  I understand up until the 6th row.

Rows 1 to 9 are pink, and 10 to 20 are brown.

I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me!  I'm about to give up and just give him legs with pink tips.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Ocean Blue and Brown Tote on: February 17, 2007 12:54:34 PM
I made this tote for my sister's birthday.  I'm so pleased with it!   Cheesy  I used this tutorial by gloriana, but didn't follow it exactly.

I put a pocket between the straps on both sides of the bag.  You can see it in this action shot.

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of bag to make for my other sister, whose birthday is only three days after this sister's birthday...
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Pink and Brown Laptop Tote on: February 10, 2007 07:05:17 PM
This is the first tote I've ever made.  I wish I had realized years ago that I could do this!  I know what my sisters are getting for their birthdays.  Smiley

7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Stencil Kit on: January 13, 2007 02:25:04 PM
For Christmas, I made my husband a kit with everything to start stenciling, and included a little instruction book.

freezer paper
sponge brushes
acrylic paints
fabric medium
x-acto knife
stenciling tutorial book (link)

I've never stenciled before, so I used t0xicity and deathcabforcody's craftster tutorials for the content of the book.  If you print the second page of the document onto the back of the first page, the little pages of the book line up.  Then you cut out the two pieces, and staple the book together at the fold.  Here's a picture of the book because that probably didn't make sense...

I wrapped the freezer paper separately, and had him open it first.  He had a confused look on his face, but said thank you anyway.  So polite!  Tongue
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / bright double irish chain on: December 18, 2006 04:58:34 PM
I made this lap quilt for my mother-in-law for Christmas.  I'm calling it Garden Quilt because it looks like green lawn with strips of blue and yellow flowers.

I am so glad to be done with it!  It turned out to be more work than I had thought it would be.  I used two charm packs for the last quilt I made, and it went so fast.  I didn't realize cutting the fabric for this quilt would take so long.  Smiley

I hope she likes it!  I'm kind of sad to be giving it away...
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Activities/Traditions for Christmas Eve on: December 13, 2006 10:40:52 AM
I am spending Christmas with my husband's family this year.  I REALLY do not want to sit around and stare at them for hours.  It's just going to be the two of us, his parents, and his uncle.  No kids to offer a distraction.  Sad

What can we do on Christmas Eve to occupy some time???  What do your families do?  One year my family broke a peppermint pig, and I'm thinking about bringing one of those.

The men probably wouldn't participate, but are there any Christmas Eve crafts we could do together?
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Ho! Ho! Ho! I'm hu-hu-hungry! on: December 05, 2006 07:52:38 PM
My husband loves the Flintstone's Fruity Pebbles Christmas commercial from the 80's (we get the song stuck in our heads every year), so he made Christmas cards based on the commercial this year.  The commercial is up on YouTube, if you'd like to revisit the 80's.  Smiley

The front says "Season's greetings in our souls..." and the inside says "yummy fruity pebbles in our bowls!"
