1  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Bike Riding Swap - ANGEL FOUND! on: June 13, 2007 01:41:14 PM
HEY!  I am in need of a lovely swap angel for jane feebles, her partner has been MIA on craftster for quite some time now, and its been too long for us to just sit around waiting.

BIKE RIDING SWAP ROUND 2: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=163121.0
GALLERY SO FAR: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=171612.0;topicseen

Basically, this is/was a swap for bicycle lovers, people were asked to craft bike-related items, whether it was something useful for riding, something made out of recycled bike parts, or something with a bike image or quote on it.  In general, each person was asked to craft one large item and a mixture of a few small or medium items.

Would love to receive: a basket/liner, a good bike bag, cute lycra-free riding gear, bandanas, bike themed stuff, anything except a seat cover!
Favorite colors/patterns: I like bright primary colours. The bike is a sort of sparkly maroon red with black and white trim

Just so everyone is aware, jane feebles lives in Australia, so her angel would have to be ok with shipping internationally.

Thank you so much!

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / i can't find the swapper feedback form! on: June 10, 2007 02:31:29 PM
Sorry if this seems silly, but I've been exploring the updated site (which looks very nice, i'm just awful at computer-y things) but cannot find the new location of the link for the swap feedback form.  I need to update feedback for someone in my swap ASAP, can someone tell me how to do this?  Its usually on a line of links somewhere towards the top of any swap-related page, but i don't see it now...

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Organizer Feedback on: June 04, 2007 10:06:26 PM
Quick question- it is my first time organizing a swap.  my partner received her package and liked it very much, i sent on time, etc.  What is the best way to give myself feedback?  I don't want to seem immodest since I'm rating myself...  Should I just change the status to "positive" and not write any comments?  What do people usually do?

This is a fairly superficial question, but i'd be interested to hear what most of you do...

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Exception to rule for new swappers? on: April 25, 2007 06:33:40 PM
I am in the process of organizing the Bike Riding Swap Round 2, and someone PMed me asking to sign up, but her feedback shows that she is still "in progres" for her first swap.  She explained that her organizer has been very unresponsive and slow in updating feedback...she was flaked on in the swap, but HER package arrived sucessfully.  if she can prove (with a DC#, receipt, etc) that her package arrived, can an exception be made so that she can join?
I certainly want to follow all of the rules, but I feel badly that she cannot join this swap due to an absentee organizer.  Unfortunately, sign-ups are supposed to be closed today... and I don't want to keep everyone else waiting.  What should I do?

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / cherry blossom glasses case on: April 22, 2007 09:44:06 PM
i made this for the Pimp My Glasses/Contacts Case Swap, but my partner received, so its OK to post pictures!  I used a thick-ish brown felt for the case, and a thinner light pink felt for the flowers.  The hot pink detail is also how they are attached...

and here it is being used (just an example, I didn't send my glasses  in the package, don't worry)

Details of swap:
This swap is for anyone who loves bicycles and bicycle riding, (and even for people who ride vespas or motorcycles).  There is no actual swapping of bikes, instead people should swap bike-related items like helmet embellishments, bike baskets or bags, seat covers, maintenance kits, and other items related to riding.  People can also craft items using bike parts- necklaces made from gears, picture frames made from old bike tires, etc.  Also, you can craft items for your partner such as t-shirts, bags, gloves or hats which can be worn while biking or which relate to biking (i.e. "I HEART BIKES" or "I LOVE MY 21 SPEED").

Partners should agree on how much to craft to ensure equality of swapping, but in general each package should have one large item (timewise) and a mixture of medium and small items.

Here is the gallery from the bike swap a few years back:

Here is further inspiration, as located by Mezzi!

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Bike Riding Swap! on: February 21, 2007 06:26:56 PM
Mezzi and I are thinking of organizing a bike related swap- maybe next month so we could be sending out in time for spring?

It could include anything from shirts or bags with stenciled bike images to helmet covers, bike lock containers, handlebar decorations, repair kits, baskets, etc.

I made this for the "Crafty Ornaments For Your Xmas Tree" swap, but my partner has received so I decided to share and post some pictures.

Its fairly simple to make, just a bit labor intensive and time consuming.
