11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / i wanna make a clear vinyl covered waterproofish hobo bag... on: May 10, 2007 12:20:45 PM
i have that super cute "cotton candy friends" or whatever it's called flannel fabric from joann's, and i want to make a simple hobo bag out of it for the beach, but i want to somehow put clear vinyl or some other clear stuff over it to prevent stains and pilling. i've never tried using vinyl or any other plastic-y stuff before so how could i go about doing this?Huh any advice at ALL would be so appreciated, i haven't sewn in a while lol. thanks guys!
12  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / more cupcakes! i LOVE these things!!!! on: May 01, 2007 04:38:21 PM
okay, i totally love making cupcakes now. i'm thrilled with how these turned out, one of the pink is going to be the button closure on the purse i just crocheted (the purse is a cream color that will make the cupcake totally pop), and i think i'll make the other pink one into a matching bracelet (they have holes going through the cup part lol). the chocolate cupcakes with the glass bead sprinkles are going to be earrings. what do you guys think?!

13  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / newbie - my first polymer clay creations! on: April 30, 2007 02:34:19 PM
... and of course, they're cupcakes. i was practicing last night because i want to make some polymer clay cupcake buttons for a purse i just crocheted. i could only find one person that makes them on etsy and she hasnt answered my message so i decided to attempt it myself, like a true craftster! anyway, here they are:

im especially proud of the mint chocolate chip cupcake on the far left. i don't like how the buttons came out but i think thats jsut cuz of the icing. i really like polymer clay though, i grabbed some more today on my way out of work (i work at michaels hehe), and i'm going to try making more buttons tonight. so how'd i do?
14  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / creative ways to make crocheted purse straps non-stretchy and sturdy? on: April 27, 2007 06:29:43 PM
i'm working on a mod for the fat bottom bag from SnB with a crocheted strap handle, and i'm trying to think of a not-tacky way to make the handle not stretchy, because i HATE that feeling. any new ideas in that department???
15  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / my unidentified amigurumi! on: April 08, 2007 08:23:43 AM
i whipped this little guy up in about 3 hours yesterday. i think he's so cute but i can't decide what he is or if i should do anything else to him. what do you guys think?

i also posted the pattern for him in my blog, http://www.lisaacrochet.blogspot.com, so maybe you guys can come up with some cute ideas. =)

17  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / my out of control stash! (with pics!) on: April 01, 2007 09:33:22 PM
i have this big bin of nothing but cotton yarn (it's my favorite). i have a habit of just buying a ball here and there or buying a whole ton of one color because i think i'll never see it again, and i just throw it in this bin. well, i decided to dump the bin out today and see what i actually have in there. here's my humungous cotton yarn stash:

i totally need to find some patterns to use these suckers up and get this under control.

as well as the rest of my stash, which i figured i'd take pics of just to make the collection complete...

2 shelves of yarn that go back about 2-3 feet... yeah, a lot.

my big lion brand "yarn storage thing", it's really just a hamper, of mostly my plain old acrylic worsted weight yarns for amigurumis. and of course all my knitting needles sticking out of hte front that we dare not speak of on this board. =X haha.
18  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / "cupcake critters" - pattern from crochetville on: April 01, 2007 09:28:12 PM
kristiemn, a user on crochetville, made these cuuute little "cupcake critters" and posted the pattern over there - i whipped up two of them myself today. the koala is for my fiance who started a new job today, and the other one i think i'll turn into a keychain. i started another one too but i haven't made the face yet.

19  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / puppy amigurumi v2: the pug, and shelly the egg amigurumi! on: March 25, 2007 07:49:28 PM
Just wanted to let you guys know that the pattern for Shelly is now available on my blog (in my signature) and the pug will be available by tomorrow! =)

i've noticed there'snot too many patterns out there for certain dog breed amigurumis, so i'm making up some of my own. this is the 2nd one, the pug!

and i also whipped up this little cutie, who i will soon make a lil cradle and blanky for..

20  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / i crocheted my puppy! on: March 18, 2007 03:11:18 PM
i've started to design my own amigurumi patterns, so i decided to use my puggle puppy holly as inspiration. here's some pictures of her for comparison:

and here's her cute little mini-me:

close up of the face that took me like a week to be satisfied with:

so what do you guys think? =)
