1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / kissing in the rain on: October 18, 2006 10:04:10 PM
my first attempt at something "big" (as compared to all the pendants i've been making)

stained glass, 12"x9.5"
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / beaded cuff ala craftster on: August 15, 2006 07:12:06 PM
i decided to try my hand at the tutorial here on the bead board for the cuff bracelet.  lacking 18-gauge wire (or 24-g for that matter!) i improvized with some twisted up 20-g and 22-g for the beads.  then i ran out of purple beads so i threw in some random blue and green ones but you can hardly tell!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / i love buttons! on: August 15, 2006 03:41:29 PM
a button bracelet, just for fun...

i'm getting mildy obsessed with uncovering unusual uses for everyday objects Smiley
4  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / more stained glass jewelry on: August 15, 2006 07:12:36 AM
after being so bummed about breaking the tail on my green goldfish, i stumbled across some great glass that inspired me to reincarnate it!

"goldfish at sunset"    oh, and the original for comparison Smiley
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / my take on the button bracelet, part 1 on: August 13, 2006 11:29:30 PM
inspired by this post: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=113170.0, to make less "ugly" backs.

i came up with this.  unfortunately i didn't cut quite enough wire so i'll have to take it apart and redo it to fit, but i like the design!

6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / three new stained glass pendants - lotus, goldfish and blue flower on: August 13, 2006 10:47:07 AM
my latest...

as you can see, the goldfish sustained a crack to the tail following a clumsiness incident  Cry which is a bummer because the glass i used for the fins was scrap and i don't have any more of it!  the blue flower also has a minor crack although it's not very noticable & i have no idea where that came from.  but i love them anyway!

group shot

below are the pendants individually. the photos are approx. life-sized!

blue flower (i love the swirlies!)
7  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / stained glass dragonfly pendant on: August 07, 2006 07:47:44 PM

8  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / stained glass pendant - what to do when someone says you can't do something on: August 07, 2006 09:06:55 AM
do it anyway!!

i took a stained glass jewelry workshop recently in which i brought in several ambitious project ideas.  when i showed the teacher this pattern, she flat out told me it was too difficult for a beginner to do.  well, i hate being told i can't do something, so i ignored the teacher and scored and grinded away until i got this.  i love proving people wrong!  Grin

the coil of joy*

*the coil of joy is a tibetal buddhist symbol that represents the transformation of the three "poisons" (passion, aggression and ignorance) into three "wisdoms" (appreciation, clear seeing, and openness)

a gift to a friend to help her remember that everything is impermanent!

10  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / dante's pendant: why you should play with fire! on: July 17, 2006 06:14:34 PM
last saturday, i had my first experience with lampwork glass  Grin Grin at a borosilicate jewelry workshop.  needless to say, between the fire, the molten glass and, well, total coolness of it all -- i'm hooked!  so here's my very first ever piece.  called dante's pendant for probably obvious reasons.  hope you enjoy!
