1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Pouf / Floor Cushion on: April 23, 2014 06:03:26 AM
hubby's gonna be mad... but the toddler will be happy.
I think there may be tons of knitted poofs around here someday.

those are awesome... and the patterns are something my very limited knitting skills can do... and we have about 5 old sheets laying around already and i have totes and totes of yarn. basically free home decor. I'm so excited!

Thank you for sharing this Smiley

Moved from: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=42.0

my mom has this habit of buying things from the thrift store that she thinks i can use, and she bought me these about three years ago and all i've thought since is "What can i do with this.....too thick to drill..... to small to paint detailed things on....." and this is what I came up with.

Most of them were painted with acrylic paint, than i shoved a sticker or something on it, and than added a layer of mod podge to seal it and make it more shiny and eye catching.

I love the bear, but have to say giraffe love is my favourite because it's a unique style, love the dots!

Thank you, those dots were insane to do but they were well worth it!

Oh man, your lion made me laugh! I immediately said out loud: "RAWR!"

So glad for you being able to de-stress through crafty expression :-)

Lol that's the same thing my two year old son did when he saw it. Needless to say, I believe that one is his favorite!!
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: wire and beaded dragonfly decoration on: April 16, 2014 09:29:45 AM
They look great and I think your choice of head beads just makes them really pop.

Thank you!! I ended up adding rhinestones for eyes, and that made them pop even more.
They are so cute! Can I pretend to be your sister so you can make me some?  Grin
they aren't that hard. I got the beads at Walmart for $2 and the wire was from the dollar stores floral section. I could make at least twice as much with those supplies as well!! Cheap and cute, can't beat it!

I made a beaded dragonfly before too! I like yours better. Here's a picture of mine, it's the pink one. The other one I bought at the Renn Faire for $1. (I just wanted another one, didn't make it to sell or anything.)

I think these look more realistic than the ones I make, both are cute! You did a great job at recreating it.

I made these for my sister because she loves dragonflies and finally has her own house to hang them in! They were as easy as they looked, but turned out way better than I expected!!

I have had a really rough time the past couple of months, and painting is the way I have made it through it all. Here are some of my favorite paintings (I will limit to my top 3... Tongue)

Giraffe Love... this one was done while I was in a wacky dot phase... I painted three paintings where the background was just designs in dots... They look amazing, but sometimes I just want to let the brush go free and do whatever it wants, which obviously you can't do when you're dotting your painting for a couple hours.. haha

annnnd roaring lion!

and my personal favorite (besides giraffe love) is this bear:

9  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Prized smoothie recipes! Share here! on: December 11, 2011 12:36:49 AM
My absolute favorite smoothie EVER is my blueberry one.

I put about 1 cup of frozen  blueberries (non-sweetened), 2 cups of Light Vanilla Soymilk, and about 1 tablespoon of splenda.

Soymilk makes smoothies extra frothy and I love it!

peppermint bark
1 bag of milk chocolate morsels
1 bag of white chocolate morsels
10 starlight candys (candy canes work too and are way easier to crush)

Crush up the peppermint candy's into small pieces.
Melt milk chocolate morsels, and spread on to parchment paper.
Put in fridge to harden.
Melt white chocolate morsels. Add crushed peppermint pieces.
Put white chocolate on top of the milk chocolate (peppermint makes it harden faster, so you have less time to work with it)
Let harden.

Break into small pieces!

I just made this and it took a total of 20 minutes, tops...and that's mainly because I had to clean the double boiler between chocolates Smiley
