These pictures don't do it justice, though. But here are a few photos of the dress.

As requested for her birthday... I made my friend Jessica this nifty little bag here =) it's covered in band pins now.. and looks even more fantastic than in the pictures =D

I made my own pattern. If anyone wants a tut... request it and I'll probably post.

15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / emo boy murders the robot. my first hoodie <3 on: August 13, 2006 03:18:17 PM
Okay so I should've posted this like 2 months ago... but I'm the queen of procrastination <3

anyway.. went to JoAnnes and they had this huge sale on scraps of random fabric. And there goes the little light bulb of ideas in my head.

I cut and sewed and ripped and sewed again. Happend like 4 times and I ended up with this.

The whole thing:

me wearing it (ew my face would've made you puke.. so I saved you a trip to the bathroom):

me with the hood up:

close up on the iron-on transfer I put on (took me FOREVER to make it on the comp lol so I'm proud ):

hmm yeah so I think it turned out pretty good for a first hoodie! just the arms were really really hard to get on =/

oh yeah, and I kinda sorta melted half the zipper when I was ironing the picture on... whoops! xD
anyway, comments and constructive critisism very welcome! hope you like =p
16  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / transfer on canvas shoes? on: July 23, 2006 11:29:28 AM
Does anyone know if that'll work?
I've done transfers once.. on a sweatshirt I made- and I loved the result. (beside the fact that I had light paper for a dark sweatshirt.. so it came out moins le colour)

but I am like in love with it! so like cheapy "vans shoes" from walmart.. or converse.. anyone know about it or done it?

thanks guys and gals. xD
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Deconstructed skirt from pants on: May 28, 2006 05:53:16 PM
I've been watching this site's forums for a while but just remembered about this sweet skirt I made last summer.. so I joined and decided to post.

When I was in like 5th grade or so, I was pretty chubby. Okay I'm not going to lie- I was very overweight. but as I grew older I started caring and I lost a ton of weight.
I tried making shirts from old jeans over and over but it never worked because they would end up too tight on my butt. But since I was so big- these old pants were PERFECT.

So here are abbriviated directions.. although it's kind of self explanitory.
ps- patches are made with an old blue sparkly bathing suit.

1. Cut off pant legs.. leaving enough of the legs so it wont be too short.
2. cut the inside of the remaining legs.. so they open up.
3. sew everthing together (all the parts that you'd have to sew to make it look like a skirt)
4. go crazy with clorox bleach and scissors or a potato peeler
5. if the front is too tight (like mine turned out to be) add a little triangle to the front with jean from the legs:

6. don't add a hem to the end unless it poses a problem with the fraying.. but I keep washing mine and it's the perfect amount of fray.

happy skirt making!
