2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled Magazines: Mini Trash Bins/Storage Containers on: January 01, 2008 01:12:21 AM
Now that the holidays are over, I'm sure all of us have stacks and stacks of holiday catalogs and magazines that are completely useless to us. My family has a tradition of sitting down together to make mini trash bins for the new year. We use them mainly for food scraps (nut/seed shells, edamame shells, fish bones, etc.) but they're also good for storing other odds and ends. These little containers also double as a nice tabletop decoration (especially if you use colorful catalogs!)

Here are the containers in action

Here they are stored (one of the containers can be used to hold all the others):

Let's stay GREEN this new year!

If anyone wants a tut, I'll be glad to draw one out...just let me know =)

3  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Tiny bubbles.. on my shoes. on: September 17, 2007 12:44:32 AM
gorgeous shoes!

my local shoe store (& payless has them for about 5 bucks!) has a spray that makes shoes waterproof...i'm not sure if it would set the ink but you could give it a try by maybe drawing on some canvas, spraying it, and putting it to the test to avoid ruining your shoes
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: My Origami Projects - ULTRA IMG HEAVY on: June 14, 2006 03:17:34 PM
Your pieces are gorgeous! There are so few paper folders on craftster...it's always exciting to see paperfolding posts.

If any of you are looking for kits and live in the Orange County area...I can direct you to A LOT of stores.

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Chinese Stone Seals on: March 06, 2006 10:21:27 PM
I haven't posted a project onto craftster in over a year (!!!) and I thought it was about time to come back.

I was recently commissioned to carve a Chinese stone seal for a couple I met at a multi-cultural fair & here's the end result:

The characters are the phonetic translation of "Irene" into Chinese & the actual size is a bit smaller than the photo shown.

Hope you like it! =)

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Random Artist Trading Card Swap Gallery!!! on: October 18, 2005 04:13:34 PM
Oh, Erin = me. I may have forgotten to write my username on some of them, but the others I wrote it on the paper I wrapped aroud the ATCs because I was paranoid that they'd get damaged in the mail. The post office recently returned a bill to me that was shredded to bits. Of course, that made it late. Meh, I'm not on good terms w/ the post office right now.

But! I digress, I'm glad you got it and like it. You're very welcome.

i hate the usps too! uhg, the last 5 things i sent out (not for this swap) got returned to me (completely damaged, as usual) requesting more postage. sooo, i add the postage and then re-send it... AND THEN I GOT IT BACK EVEN MORE DAMAGED WITH ALL THE STAMPS STAMPPED OUT. grrrr.

From L to R :
"The Pond" by Erin (sorry i don't know your username!); "Virgin" by emmafair; "Tag You Are It" by Princess_me

Thanks so much! I love them all. Plus -- It was so fun to have all the mail be for me =) *snicker
10  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Random ATC swap (Signups: 09/17 to 10/-CLOSED) on: October 14, 2005 09:22:24 PM
I just realized that I sent darkest_faerie's ATC out with regular U.S. postage (she's in Canada).  That's going to be a problem, right?  I have no clue.  Does anyone know?

Not a problem -- my mom uses US postage for international mail and it always gets there  Smiley
